Here we go again, paintball at a high point again tourneys, recball, big games more and more players coming in ,trouble is I don't think there are enough players to support the massive amount of events in the UK this year.Take big games for instance, last year there were 2,Kennys and 2K3 4 months apart ,this year ? one a month from May to September inc at least 2 in June add that to the amount of tourneys and you've got some seriously under subscribed events coming up.Result more choice for `ballers ? ,er this year yes, next year no because the tourney and site operators will ,through their own greed, say that 2003 was a bad year `cos they put all these wonderful events on and nobody turned up.
Its about time that these muppets talked to each other and got a bit more organised instead of blaming players everytime they have to cancel an event due to lack of people.

Your not the only one who has noticed this. The problem is the site owners see the success of former events and think' OOO I'll have some of that'. The problem is like you said theres just not enough ballers out there or if there are enough ballers out there there is not enough cash in thier pockets to play all the events.
The tourney players who are in teams and might make an appearance at these events are commited to thier respected leagues so prefer to go to these.

I can't see a lot of tourny players attending these big games simple because most are site paint only which of course to a tourny player is oh so expensive.

This is were I feel the UKPSF needs to step in and sort out the site owners because you are right, next year how games are going to be played, hardley any coz nobody played in 2003

Read the post DW,I used big games as an example. The amount of paintball events i.e. tourneys, big games and walk ons this year is staggering, most of which clash, 2k3 5 May,OTE on the 11th,Toulose ,KOTH 18th,M25 18th,Acadamy 25th,MM and 2003?
Thats just of the top of my head and only one month...there just aren't the players in the UK to support this level of activity,I'm not talking about costs thats a seperate matter ,I'm talking about the sheer impossiblity to be in 2 or 3 places at a time.

So is it time for the event organisers to consider holding some events on a Saturday? Sounds fairly reasonable to me:D :D

T\L this is getting worrying as that was going to be my next post:eek: ,why aren't some events held on Saturdays, you could even double up some tourneys on Sat.\Sun same site ,same fields different series less cost to both organisers and less hassle.
And why don't they put big games on Bank Holiday Mondays ?

Great minds think alike hey??
The Saturday thing is the only sensible answer. The problem is that Saturdays are often regarded as easy money punter days to many site owners. This is due to the fact that you get all the stag parties up on a saturday just before they go on the beer hunt that night. So what self respecting site owner is going to give up the fatted cow in order to have a bunch of 'pre-madonnas' running around and binging thier own paint.
The bank holiday idea for big games is a stroke of genius though.
If theres a bank holiday free put a big game on it, that way none of them will clash and the tourney players can still make the main days play.
