ok as per the title, does anyone know how to get the fps on an impulse over the 130 mark.....just i've tried the velosity adjuster at the back and it's as far as it will go, (130 fps lol)
could anyone point out if i'm doing something wrong? i'm sure i am....

i thought impulse velocity was adjusted by increasing/ decreasing dwell, thats what i do on my eclipse and it gets it working....

Ahhhhh no worries, i'll just have to ducktape a few bits back on and it should be as good as new..... cheeers for that gassy, i knew i'd changed the velosity on it before but wasnt too sure whuch of the allen keys to fiddle with lol

ok changed the velosity but the front reg seems as though it's leaking when i put the fps upto 230, anyone know what the best thing to do about this is? should i just put insulateing tape on the part that you scew to change the fps? help :-)

I'm talking fps over a chrono,
the reg at the front goes to about 200 if it goes over it then the brass "bolt" at the front has a bit in the middle that lifts up and vents the air, at a guess i'm doing something wrong because there isnt realy any force in there to lob the paint very far at all, gassy please help :_(

and cheers for the constuctive crittisisam mr "I dont tinker with markers ever, and they always work and never fall apart after i've even looked at them" Luke@york

does it have an LPR ? if the main input pressure is at 200psi then soudns like the second reg (lpr) needs adjusting up a little ?

just a thought

Cheers man,
just going to google how to do that now as i'm sure you guys are sick of answering me daft questions :-)

you need to set the input pressure to around 180, then set your dwell on your board depending on what type of board you have of course until you hit the correct fps you want, another problem you might have with low fps is that the ram assamble needs cleaning out as it does clog with gung if you go over board on the lubing:eek:, also if you feel confident trying cleaning out the solenoid and relube it lightly of course, same with the ram just needs a light lubing, that should sort out your problem, an impulse is dead easy to maintain so theres not much that can go wrong with it! if you need anymore help give us a shout.:D

Yep my bolt is the right way up, the thing does shoot (when it wants to) but when i try and change the fps it just vents alot of air out of the bottom of the front reg where you told me to change it with the allen key

yeah if you go over 200psi input it will vent the air out of the brass pressure release valve (PRV) to save the solenoid from going pop! so put it to 180 and adjust dwell on your borad, what board do you have? does it have a button at the back with a blue light perhaps?

okay this is what you need to do then, first look at the right hand side of your marker, if you look at the board tray just above the trigger, theres 2 buttons now the one nearst the front of the marker were the barrel points is to adjust the dwell up and the one near the back adjusts the dwell down, what you need to do is reset the dwell to zero to do that press and hold the dwell down button until you hear a low-pitch beep that means its back to zero, next you need to increase the dwell DO THIS OVER A CHRONO! press the dwell up button a few times with a small allen key, then fire a few shots then check it over the chrono to see were its at, keep doing this till you hit 280fps and thats it dead simple! but make sure your input pressure from your front reg is at 180psi and that should sort you out.:D confused yet?

okay these links to impulse info should help you out in your quest for knowledge!

www.zdspb.com (very useful one there)

http://www.kamworld.net/paintball/ImpulseFAQ.html (another useful one)

and about the question of the reg, if its the big stock vert max flow all you need to do is losen the tiny little allen screws on the bottom of the reg which locks the cap (stop it moving), then to adjust the pressure up, turn it inwards and to adjust pressure down turn outwards, for a accurate reading turn it up slowly and fire every so often then check the guage till you reach 180psi, after that you then need to tighten the little allen screws back up to lock the cap back down and you should be good to go!

if you need any more help just ask and ill be happy to answer!:D

also do you have a impulse manual? if not go to www.smartparts.com and click support, manuals and get yourself the impulse manual downloaded, dead useful!

ok sooooooo i've re-set my dwell and got the input pressure to 180psi (am gonna get hold of a chrono tomorrow,
but just to double check with you guys (as it's easier to ask people who can say yes or no than read a manual and still be left in the dark slightly) but the big brass bit under the front reg is what controls the input psi and the increase and decrease in dwell is what makes the fps go up or down
or have i gone a over t and got it wrong?

if you can get a pick of your marker then point out the bits you arent sure of,i can answer them for you, just hard to describe stuff sometimes so you never no whats going on!
