What it the view of the UKPSF on scenario markers given the governments plans to ban the sale and importation of realistic firearms?
I beleive this issue is being addressed in the "Violent crimes reduction bill" which to date makes provisions for the airsoft industry in the fact they may be allowed to continue if they make their guns unrealistic.

what i think will happen is that markers that resemble "real"guns etc will have to have bright orange ends on them to make them more visible?
possibly.....
This is the reply I had from the Home Office when I asked the question you are asking
The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 will ban the importation, manufacture and sale of realistic imitation firearms. This will mean that the sale of paintball markers designed to look like real firearms will be banned, but those markers which do not resemble genuine firearms will be unaffected. They will not be restricted to sale through registered firearms dealers and nor will transfers be required to be face to face.
So if it looks like the real thing future imports will be banned - so keep the hoppers on top so they look different. Also it does not affect anyone who currently owns one or those in stock to sell. Orange ends will not be the answer long term.
A potential "grey area" could be with some markers that you can buy and then "add-on" extras to make them look like the "real thing"

So SP8 sounds like it'll be ok what with the hopper being a metre above the actual gun, it only sort of resembles a G36 rifle and I already own it.
My Tac 8 pistol might a little dodgy, buy I already own it. :D

Just heard on the news that Airsoft will be exempt from these requirements, "they never intended to target legitimate use", will paintball markers fall under the same blanket exemption?

I would imagine so, although we fire larger projectiles our markers don't always look realistic, most softair gats look like the genuine article.
Easy way to get around this would be to buy the gun in parts.
