Check the anti double ball (aka ball detent) is ok.

Also you should note that really cold weather can have a bad effect on paint making it more brittle than usual.

During your day try to keep your paintballs as warm as possible maybe with a thermal bag and handwarmer. It is amazing the difference between warm and cold paint.

At YPC we have a purpose built warm room for the winter months and take only one box out at a time.

Poor quality paint can also cause ball breakages.

I would be interested to know what barrel you are using and what pressure you're reading on the markers gauge.

lots of ppl hav had probs with their jt 6s chopping balls and apparently its bcos of the stock bolt on some of the jts - it sucks and chops balls, apparently JT does do a replacement bolt for the jts. otherwise it takes top-cocking spyder bolts i think (if u can find em?)

when i used it last was using Victory paint

started chopping on the shooting range, although a friend used it and after chopping problems used hard shelled paint from the team that run the site and it wasnt chopping.

It is the blow back form the co2 that causes it.

Adjust the reg so the gauge reads just under 600 and try it then

Sounds like poor quality paint.

Frank bought an JT 6.0 and had to turn the pressure down to less than 600 due to the amount of blowback. It was so bad that if the hopper was less than 1/4 full, there was a serious risk of a burst ball in the hopper feed neck and the blowback coating the inside of the hopper the following shot

Sounds like a poor seal between the bolt and the breech. Not sure that there's much you can do about it, unless you got a machine shop to cut a groove round the front of the bolt to put an o-ring in - but it be more hassle then it was worth. To check if it really is blowback, take the hopper off. Then load 2 balls into the feed neck. When you fire, if the second ball shoots up out of the feed neck, then it is likely to be blowback causing you problems. The faster the ball pops out, the worse the blowback is.

The blowback on a JT 6.0 is terrible
