How much money do you have to spend, what do you want to do with it, how technically minded are you?

saw the 2003 autococker on fat bobs for £350, it will be my 2nd marker the first being a bone daddy which i bought purely just to have my own marker.I'm now getting into paintball more and want something that will compete with the guys who are caning the life out of me with their pro markers !!!! Not looking to spend more than around £400 and as for being technically minded...erm............so so !!

I don't want to tread on Fatbobs toes here, but with £400 you could get a very nice 2002 autococker 2nd hand with lots of upgrades already on it. You might even be able to find one with an air system included for your budget. Just a word of warning though if you by 2nd hand through e-bay don't get it from the US. Two reasons the postage is Phenomenal and Customs are very gittery about anything with a trigger. Worse if its second hand. Expect to wait at least a month for it to arrive.

Of course there's nothing wrong with the 2003 Autococker. It's very basic Autococker but does the biz. My brother bought one late last year and had a few teething troubles with air leaks but Fatbobs took it back and fixed it then it leaked again so he traced the problem and fixed it. If you know a site with an Autococker expert then get a 2nd hand one. If you don't want the hassle of setting it up to fit you get a new one.

Either way get a cocker their great.

I, I am that brother who bought the beuty that is the 2003 autocoker, teething problems where caused by lack of knolege on my part and the fact that i put the crap known as c02 through it, lol
Apart from that, id highly recomend the marker my self, aslong as u can take it to someone to show you the basics of stripping and cleaning it, you will be fine.

2003 Autococker? Can't go wrong choosing one. I got one back end of last year, and after a bit of tinkering it rocks. After around 8 cases of paint through it, I've only had 3 or 4 chops, and they were down to me half stroking it. The only thing I've changed is the barrel, using an Empire system at the moment, no compaints there either. No need to strip it down, unless it goes drastically wrong. (Someone at your local site will probably have the knowledge to fix major mishaps). Clean it, lube it, play with it. The usual probs with cockers are down to timing, which isn't the demon a lot of people make out. Buy one, you won't regret it.:)
