OK so I'm new to the game and have a lot to learn so here is my first of many questions. Which are the best paintballs? I mean, there are so many; different names, grades, manufacturers of all who so theirs are the best. I have an Tippmann X7 with a Flatline Barrel and Response Trigger. Which balls should I go for that are accurate. I am not keen on balls the 'bend it like Beckham'. Also, when you buy them, why can't you choose a colour like white?

I'd go with JT USA, or brass eagle, there the ones that i play with (during tournements). You got tornament grade which has great quality and accuracy, but there usually more expensive. Now for my team's practice we stick with Monsterballs, its cheaper and has decent quality, but Mosterball should only be used for practice. the color on the other hand I've never even heard of white paint. Also, if you buy certain brands of paintballs (usually the expensive brands) you can pick the color. For example red, pink, green, orange, blue.

ive found paint is down to personell preferance and how much money you have.. i like chronic paint mostly because its a thick fill and cheap even the very best off balls will bend if they are left standing for to long or kept in wrong conditions. not much help, my advise is try as many different types as poss. you will find 1 you like

No but it may and I quote may (so not getting anyone in to trouble) have been sat on a floor with heat, cold and humidity taking its effect on it. Plus the weight of the paintballs themselves being stacked on top of each other, and i'm talking individual boxes here before anyone says the cardboard box supports em. This all has an effect you'll see when you fire them bend it like Beckham etc. Buy fresh paint I'd recommend Proto or Chronic if you go to a busy site where paints goes through them quickly you're likely to find very little problems its the sites that stock up and don't use much where you're likely to get problems with paint. ;)

Ebay paint is generally paint that's been sat in someones house, or that a company can't get rid of. After paint's been sat a while it creates dimples which obviously affect the flight of the ball. There's also the danger of shipping and breaks. Buy at walkon's and it will have been kept correctly and there isn't the risk of the postie dropping it.

please learn to use the search function on the forum, paintballs are good or bad all on the way they have been stored, i.e. you can have the best paint in the world but if it has been stored in a cool place for any period of time its gonna be complete crap to use and you can have average paint stored well and you will be absolutley fine.

paint can make your day great or pants all depends on how well its been stored, as long as your spending £25 minimum on paint per box and its been stored well and not bought of ebay you should be fine

Ok Ok. Now I've learnt a little about paintballs now such as: -

Don't get them too hot
Don't get them too cold.
Don't let them get damp.
Don't stack them too high.
Don't stack them for too long.
The perfect temperature for use is 15-24 degrees C.
Cheap balls are crap.
Exspensive can be just as crap.
A broken ball in your hopper can effect them all.
A broken ball in your barrel can effect them all.
Don't drop your pods.
Don't re-use dropped balls.
Don't use soft balls.

So, what you are saying is that providing the humidity and temperature are just perfect, they have been stored correctly, are clean and shiny, not too cheap or too expensive, haven't been dropped in transit and have been imported into this country under the same conditions as eggs, then they should be OK?

Hmmm....who can provide me with these paintballs and by what name are they hiding behind.

Ahh yes....on a similar note, what do I do if I want to play in damp really cold weather with as many balls as possible bouncing away in my pods?

It's not the end of the world if you don't get them at the exact temp.

Paint isn't usually affected if it's in pods/hoppers. Also, it shouldn't be bouncing around in the pods (more chance of breaks). A tip for filling a pod is to get as many to the brim with a couple extra balls on top, close the lid ontop of the paint and give it a shake or bang on the table, this should move the balls and give you a bit more space to fill the pod up fully with nothing bouncing about.

Personally i'd suggest tomahawk.. fantastic paint and very cheap!!

the field being the cheapest.. fantastic paint.. does go well with tippmans.. the yellow colour of this variety is the best!!

sometimes colour can affect the performance for some reason.. we've found this with tomahawk field and classic.. we've have had some colours work fine everytime for everyone.. others c**p for everyone!

I personnaly like using Draxxus Hellfire for tourneys as its a great paint and works every time. For training my team use Draxxus rec sport and its brilliant (even used it in a tourney or two)

I have found both Tommohawk and Chronic to be great paints too it all comes down to price and what marker you are putting it through (and what game your using it for)
