I have had on the back burner a format I want to resurrect to paintballers everywhere.
It is aimed if I am honest to the newer end from king of the hill to division 2 but some div 1 teams would have a great time.
I have always thought that teams develop and learn by playing better teams and the "King of the hill" type divisions are only there to bring in extra income and they are, because of the teams they are playing, slow to learn.

I also remember the games we played against some of the top teams of the day and the excitement we had waiting for that game to start and I want others to experience the same.

But the stumbling block for most teams would be cost and possibly the worry of not knowing what it will end up at and thats where this old format limited paint event could help.

Ten team random divisions - nine games.
Semi-auto.
Air by H-PAC.
Minimum of twenty five bunkers per field.
Good prizes for the winning teams.
UK refs on all fields.
includes 9000 tournament quality paintballs per team.

All teams would have 9000 per team to utilise as they wish and I assure you teams will be going home with paint.
The limit part is how much paint the team has in total on the day not what you can use per game.

The cost per team is £287.50 thats only £57.50 per player for a five man team or if you do what I recommend and bring six players it would work out at less than £48.00 each.

Dates and venues are to be confirmed but sooner rather than later.

If you have genuine interest in this fixed price format or would like more details post away or send a PM.

Sounds great, what about a woodland version.

I am still talking to paint suppliers and paintball sites that can offer what we need and as soon as I have a site sorted I will announce it for one and all.

We are looking to hold the first event in September/October.

russ you know who to talk to for organising a woodland style event, why not run a mixture of both then you can play some and organise others i.e the sup-air side

Or do alternate events, woodsballers on a supair field and supair players in the woods.

I have been talking to one site and we could, if the demand was there give teams a three format day! three game on Sup-Air, three games in woodland and three games on a Hyperballl field.
We are thinking of calling it the Triple Challenge if we go ahead with it.

Could be fun and it would have elements for all fractions to enjoy, what do you think.........

may sound a bit noobish but whats the difference between speedball and hyperball?

i guess you have to decide what the priorities of the tourneys are? if its an introduction to tourney paintball maybe stick to sup air and run wood land one separately, if its just for fun then the three format thing sounds cool.

could always run 3 separate tourneys at the same site on one day?

Well just like the woods, you are advised not to slide on a Hyperball field:)

On a serious note it may help the transition of players (in both directions) to experience the fun elements of the other format.
I may try and make money with Sup Air and believe if we are ever to make this game into a sport we have to use the Sup Air format as the vehicle but I also believe we have more fun in the woods.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because of the very favourable response to this format idea we have decided to give it a run out to find any problems if any we may find.

So the date we have picked is the first Sunday in October (6th) the venue is still to be confirmed but it looks like it will be Nottingham Skirmish and those that have played there before can vouch for the superior set up of the site.
We will be using several sites for this format all based in the midlands (ish) area.

The event is strictly limited to twenty teams only....

Deposits (£50) are required to confirm entry and I will put up a team list as and when we have confirmation.
If you would like to enter please send me a PM with your team name and contact details including your telephone number.
Deposits are returnable on confirmation of Paintball site to be used if it is not suitable for you but as I have said it is 90% Nottingham.
