ok people any ideas about winterising equippment for cold conditions and a good winter paint.
played sunday, markers and airsystems freezing up, paint turning to confetti. (temp about minus 15 to 20.):(
Where where you playing, stalingrad? never heard of air freezin up, try suckin a fishermans friend and breathin on your reg. ha.
Sorry could't help it. If thats what it was like at the strines i'm glad i didn't stay. Did think of toying with the idea of a heated bottle jacket, regulated at about 20degrees and powered with a 9v battery, but gave up on the idea when i swapped to air as i only used to have trouble with co2.

no not the air nic , regs were freezing and playing up,
bolts inside markers actually froze inside if you left them on the floor for a while and the paint just broke in the marker most of the time.
if and when someone got hit you couldnt wipe it off as it was like toothpaste, then turned to a flakey powder after about 10 or 15 mins.
on the fort field where it was sheltered didnt have much trouble. it was only on the top exposed fields.
Wow sorry al didn't mean to sound flippant, Can,t realy comment. Except the team up there(marshalls etc) like their little fag break. If it was me i'd go back to base every time, try to turn it around quicker, then you wouldn't need to put your marker on the floor and take your masks off. Ergo markers wouldnt freeze up. Paint would though, probably. Doh:(

yeah i agree about inbetween game times.only went back mainly to get paint and top up with air as the jenny kept packing up leaving no lighting in safe zone.(could do with a fireplace in it too.)
and no you didnt sound flippant nic.
everythings cool,(no pun intended.lol)
You can buy winter paint.
Draxxus do a brand of winter paintballs (Arctic Inferno). They have a tougher shell so they dont shatter so easily.

was using a supposed winter paint.(polar ice) but even the fill was starting to freeze up.
got hit on the arm during one game found the best way to get the paint off was to cut it off with a knife back in the safe area..
Fcuk me Al, thats a bit drastic. Cutting your arm off to get rid of a bit of paint, not many of us die hards left...:D :D :D
