Hi all I was told to drop in over here to ask my questions before heading off to Fatbobs for some gear.

So firstly Ive played a few times now over at brighouse and to be honest everytime I've been its been one hell of a giggle,

I think im more of a woodsball guy and really (thats what ive played but i would like to try the other type)need some advice on the range of gear thats out there,Equipment wise money isnt really an issue its just i would rather buy once than buy crap and have to upgrade to better to start with

I used to race bikes (pushbikes) and to the seasoned semi pro we had a saying "all the gear no idea" Im not that kind of guy hopefully but ive seen everything from replica m16s to pistols and have no idea what i should be going for

so can someone recommend a decent mid range gun for running round the woods with ,I was told air was better than c02 so that would be helpful too.

Obviously my main objective is to get a damn good set of face protection(i feel pretty oh so pretty) so maybe someone can chime in on this also.

If i need upgrades for example barrell etc reccomendations would be appreciated

thanks in advance for any replies

im pretty new aswell and from the reviews ive read the tippman range are pretty good.
have a look on fatbobs and see what you think.

Air is better than co2 because it isnt effected as much in temperature, co2 tends to not be as consistant as air in cold weather, and it can also freeze up your gun if you shoot too much with it. Hope i was right there, if not im sure someone will correct me.

As for tippmans there robust and can take a beating, yet still throw paint, a 98custom or A5 is probably something to have a look at.

And of course you need a good mask, you only have 1 set of eyes so you have to protect them, make sure your mask fits you, is comfortable and not too hot, has good vision and a thermal lens so it wont fog up on you.

Hope this helped in someway :)

thought the a5 could shoot like 20bps?
or is that just how fast the cyclone can feed?

Not without an egrip and ramping it won't .

you will be lucky to get double figures with a stock one.

I beg to differ.

You will get about 16BPS with a Cyclone Hopper and a Response Trigger providing it is set up correctly.

I have an X7 and 16BPS is about average if you can get your trigger finger set just right. However, rapid fire triggers, e triggers, ramping and all the fancy high BPS gizmos means that a 2000 ball walk on can end before the day is over.

i couldnt imagine shooting 2000 bps, i mean when ive played in the woods i only shot 400-500, or less. Mind you the balls were expensive so i suppose if you took your own it would be easier to shoot more, especially speedball

Yesterday some people on a walk on I was with had to purchase a 2nd box by mid afternoon. Mind you, they were the ones that shot absolutley everything whilst waiting to play

thats mad lol, ive seen some littel kids once, there mother payed for the entrance, rental and first 100 balls, but left no money for extras. as soon as the whistle blew the span round in circles spraying everything, and within like 5 seconds there ammo had gone...It must of suckd to be them haha

well, if you're deffinately staying in woodsball, there's nothing wrong with a tipmann as a first marker... as far as mechanical guns go they're sound, just don't expect to be firing fast without a few upgrades. also, if you want a more realistic looking marker (if you want an m16 or ak47 wannabe) then once again, with a few upgrades you can get pretty much any effect you want, it will just cost you a bit more. if you want to jump straight into the fast firing electro side of paintballing, then i'd say there a three guns that you couldn't go wrong with: 1.the ion 2. the PMR or 3.the promaster. all 3 of these guns are fast, reliable, moderately priced and fairly easy to maintain. mask is completely up to you, as stated previously, every one has a different shaped face, but a few to consider are; dye ir3, empire vents, jt flex 8. i know it's alot of stuff to look at, but i hope it has in some way helped :D

Long story short, go and see Tony.

Try everything on, fondle everything on the wall, ask him about tying sandanas ;) drink his coffee, and listen to what he says, he will not give you a bum steer, although having said that don't let him get behind you :p

Jt flex 8s

Invert mini

still stuck on a loader though

I was going to buy one of those tippman x7 guns but they looked a bit too fancy

your selection sounds good, cant go wrong with what youve got there.
for a loader you should be looking at a Halo or a Reloader

they work fine on high pressure just a bit more difficult to get on and of but this is overcome by dry fireing your marker while putting bottle on or off.or put the bottle on empty only have to dry fire to get it off

how do you change the pressure that it runs on, or is it preset and unadjustable? :S

if you haven,t got one by the 14th october come to wakey to the genesis tournie and i,m sure one of the marshall law guys will let you have a go.you,ll probably recognise one or two of them as they are the site marshalls for brighouse and all run mini,s

the reg on the bottle is either low pressure(450psi) or high pressure(850psi) so preset, most people get high pressure as works on most markers
