We use inferno markers on our site, and have 32 of them.
We had a few problems with a few,but true to their word
Powerball checked them out and replaced 14 of them with the explanation of faults, and since we have had zero problems with
them. After every shootday we do general maintainance to them,
and if you keep them lightly oiled they should be o.k. for many years. For site markers I rate them 8/10.

Inferno! *spits in disgust* you should be ashamed! get the site some Tipmann 98's!

Sorry Skyhawk, have to agree with Dougie. The 98 is an awsome marker, very good to own just for yourself. But when it comes to running a site the Inferno is the one.

We have 275 on the site. £40 in parts over the last 4 years, that's not per marker, but for the lot.

Yeah ok Infernos Are Very Realiable and good for a site but mabey the punters would like a change :P

What would the punters like a change to? Angels? Autocockers? Would be nice but it's simply not practical - they're too expensive and they're not reliable enough. If an inferno breaks it's usually one of a couple of things - easy to field strip and fix. Other markers simply aren't that easy.

Hey I'm quite new to Paintballing. I'm mostly an occasional player and have only been to 3 paintballing venues. I was at one the Saturday gone (22nd) and was using the inferno marker. I must admit some of my friends and I found that they didn’t work very well.

For example when going on to the range I popped off a couple of shots and found that marker went a bit mad and blew the top off my popper.

However we had a couple of pro's playing on the other team and one was using a stock inferno with a different barrel attached. Now I understand that this can make a huge difference.

I must admit that I do like the simplicity of it and would consider buying the starter kit. I would just like to know if this marker would be easy to maintain and what type customisations I should do to get a little edge on other occasional players i.e my friends.

P.S. When I mean occasional I mean I try to play once every 3-5 months (money and friends permitting but seems to be once a year! :) ).

Many Thanks for any input

Yes, one of te ready to play packages would suit you best. The inferno is very reliable and can be customised with a new barrel and an air system.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the reply, I think I will in the end go for the inferno. But I dunno about getting the starter pack becuase I already have the JT Nvader Thermal mask. Unless the Vforce Armor Field mask is better.

I was looking at the tear drop barrel..are they any good?

Also do you get instructions on how to maintain the marker i.e what to clean?, how to take it apart?, what type of paint to use?, Air systems, warrenty e.t.c.

As you can tell there are amature questions. Basically I just want to get all the info I can. I just like to be safe and sure.

Thanks again

I assume the infreno comes with a user manual but don't quote me on that. If you have your own goggles, then of course you don't need the ready to play pacakage. The teardrop barrel is a very decent upgrade that you'll not regret. Think they're 0.689, which is a medium bore.

Hey Tom,

Maybe I'll have to ask the Fat bob's team for info on that manuals and stuff. I did look at the tech help forum which has a very informative starters guide.

So the tear drop barrel sounds like a very good investment then!

Would it be worth getting the teardrop even if I have to use site paint which is obviously a differnt grade to pro paint? or should I just get a cheaper one?

No - the teardrop will still work fine with poorer quality site paint. But obviously it will only shoot as well as the paint you feed it. On the other hand, if you ever got to shoot decent paint then you would see where the extra money goes.

Drop fatbob himself an email about the inferno manuals - I'm sure he'd be only too happy to help.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I think I will drop fatbob a mail about all the other quries I have.

Now all I have to do is come up with all the dough for all of the stuff and then I might have to go and test it.

Oh god and I have to pay the mortagage. I feel like I've been tempted by an evil temptress!

Thanks for all the advice Tom, I may need to come back to ya one day and ask some more Q's.

Thanks again

K

"What would the punters like a change to? Angels? Autocockers? Would be nice but it's simply not practical"

But that would be an awsome site to go and play at, sets of angels all waiting to be used!!!
Campain please take up that idea!!

Actually, WDP's site in Birmingham does use Angels.

NPF is a excellent site but only group organisers get to use angels and you need to book in advance as they go quick.
