Hi everyone, another newbie here,
I've been to Y.P.C. several times over last couple of years and I love it.
Thinking of getting my own gear with view to going to walkon days there, but I don't have any transport.
Is there anyone who lives in the Driffield area who would be willing to help me out with a lift?
Also it would be really good to talk to someone about what sort of kit I should get, there seems to be a variety of opinions on the forum as to good start-up kit.

Cheers, simon

hi i would say go with an sp ion or ion xe (new) and air tank and an electric hopper or you could get better equipent depending on your budget.

Hi Tubby,
Thanks for the advice, I will check your recommendations out, there are so many different markers out there to choose from + all these extra bits it's hard to know where to start.

it ok. what is your budget though? because if it is around £200 ish you'll be able to get an ion and the ther suff but if you got a hire budget you could get a second hand pmr or something like that.

Yeah my budget will be around £200-£250, I'll have to spend a bit of time looking at the different makes, although I think ultimately I will have to go try some out at 'Fatbob's Paintball shop', it's so hard to tell the real differences for a novice just by looking at pictures on websites.
Also theres all these accessories, tubes, elbows, cleaning and maintance stuff thats way confusing.

he stated in his first post he wanted to do walkons at ypc, which doesn't do supair... certainly the new smart parts guns are a brilliant choice for startup markers, but if you can get a cheap pmr withing your budget, i'd say jump on it.

I totally agree that the best thing to do is go to the shop. fat bobs has and unbelievable selection of kit and you should get a full set up and a bloomin great marker fro your £250. I would seriousley have a good look at the ion or new ion xe they are great. if you want something a little cheaper though again go to fat bobs and have a look at the vibe, the smart parts guns are amazing value and ideal for the beginner.

Hi,
What does sup'air mean?

Sup'Air is the name given to an inflatable bunker used in speedball, a variation of paintball. They are essentially tough skinned inflatables, capable of withstanding repeated paintball impacts and are normally anchored to the ground. They are manufactured in various shapes and sizes and can be employed for both indoor and outdoor use.

For a sup 'air I would recommend a fast firing gun like an epiphany (Although haven't used one) it's cheap (£158) and Angel Fragoza (of Dynasty) uses it so it meets the proffesional level of paintball. Or if you want a good, basic 'Plug and Play' gun I would reommend an Ion or Ion XE. Hope this helps.

I've heared Epiphanys are too heavy and are not worth it. If you've got the money get a PMR or maby a second hand one.

Angel Fragoza (of Dynasty) uses one, and for £158 I think there defianently worth it.

do you mean actual heavy or 'I am a tournament player and have no other excuse for losing heavy?' :D And if you don't like the Epiphany, if Andy has any more left go for a ProMaster.

Nathan, marker choice is down to personal preference. The epiphany is an upgraded ion and is a quality marker.
