whats the difference....>>>>......>>>.....
1)between a preset or adjustable reg.
2)which one is better.
oh and ah...... what are they???:)
Simple really:
The preset one isn't adjustable.
The adjustable one isn't preset.
Which one is better?..... now there's the question.

inkstuff, you are mistaken and misguided,
preset is as it says on the box..preset to around 800 psi and cannot be adjusted under normal conditions.
adjustable...can usually be adjusted between 150 to 900 psi, but are usually preset at the factory to around 800 psi.
so the adjustable is preset but you can alter it.
afro dan...adjustable reg (nitroduck extreme) is about 25 notes more than a preset one.
youre better getting an adjustable as they will work on most markers whereas a preset will only work on some.:)

so whats a 3000 psi preset regulator then?
preset is as it says on the box..preset to around 800 psi and cannot be adjusted under normal conditions.
adjustable...can usually be adjusted between 150 to 900 psi, but are usually preset at the factory to around 800 psi.
so the adjustable is preset but you can alter it.
Isn't that what I said, but not in so many words? The adjustable might be preset at 800psi at the factory, but how many people who buy one leave it as set?
Afro, 3000psi is the "MAXIMUM SAFE" pressure the reg will work at on the high pressure side, ie whats stored in the bottle, whether it is preset or adjustable. The 800psi, or what ever it is between 150psi and 900psi, is the output pressure. Same goes for the 4500psi regs.
Doesn't really matter whether you go for a preset or adjustable reg, as most people run a secondary reg on their marker anyway.
Anything else you'd like to know?
And as for being mistaken and misguided, I've played with more types of regulator than you've had hot dinners, and not just these simple paintball regs either.
