hey folks,

Forgive me for posting this possibly in the wrong category.

I'm kinda new to paintball and im after basic or good equipment for a low price for a starter kit i guess.

I am a full time student so i struggle with the wad of cash :D

Any suggestions or recommendations ?

Thanks for looking,

Ash.

It all depends on how much cash you got to spend but for a marker a good rule of thumb imho is if it says Spider or JT on the box don't touch it.

You cant and won't beat an inferno for value for money you'll even get a good price for it when you want to trade up ....

However your best to have a go with a few different types of marker and decide for yourself, I sure one will feel right.

For all those people who want to rush to the defence of the two makes of marker i just slated Don't cause I dont Care they're crap. And if you paid for one then your stupid......:D

thanks for your reply, my maximum amount of cash i could spend would be £150 for now. I have only been to a couple of paintball events and won't be going as often until i leave college.

Is that 150 just for the marker or for everything. Just remember that you need to get other things as well.
Have a look at the beginners guide in the technical help section of this forum.
Things you will need:
- Mask (very important :o )
- Marker (well duh :) ) you can't go wrong with the diablo sabotage - only £54 from fat bobs :) mine is holdin up very well
- Hopper (hmm ... the paint must go somewhere) & elbow
- CO2 or Air - you have a choice, but for your price range, stick with CO2 (fat bobs does a hopper+elbow and co2+antisyphon+on/off for only £40 - recommended)
- Pot pack and pots.

Also there are other things you could get, but I advise you start simple, and get other things when you need them. You will also need paint (betcha didn't know that then :p ) and that is not always cheap, but you can get that from your site.

thats all folks

don't worry bout it, i sounded just like that a couple of months back. You should pick it all up quickly.

I'm having very few problems with my sabby, and don't be put off by it's low price. It's great and the only problem i've had so far is with the ball detent.

how would you get around the problem ?

well, it's mainly down to the small paint they use at my local site. I'm still waiting for sugestions, as I remember seeing a soluiton once, but I think that it was on the old forum.
I might try a stiffer spring behind the ball bearing, as I think that it's a bit soft atm.

yeh i think ive seen that happen b4 at the last paintball site i went to in feb when it was quite cold... the balls just curved around the target around 70% of the time. Annoying after awhile when the opposition shoots you direct after the first 2 shots....
