hello, ive done paintballing a few times now and starting to like it and want to get my own gear, i don't want nuffin fancy really as i doubt ill go maybe once every 2 months or something..i was thinking of this as it seems quite cheap...smart parts sp1 a co2 bottle and was gonna get that £25 hopper from empire but looks like fatbobs dont do it anymore. Was thinking of co2 as ive heard that it doesnt make a difference with the sp1 and as its cheaper.
HPA is used more than C02, as air doesn't screw up the electronics. Contact your local site before you do purchase.
The SP1 has been designed to run on CO2, by having a CO2 dwell mode and a wedge which fits above the ASA to prevent liquid entering the gun.

thanks..i already knew that but thanks anyway..why do i have to contact my local site for.
Because if you are using a electric marker its gives you a better advantage over the rental people. Also the site may only use Air / CO2. The vibe is £10 cheaper then the SP1 also uses CO2 / Air and looks a far superior gun to the SP1 . I still think FatBobs sell the empire reloader 2 for £25. Its not on their website but if give them a ring im sure they would order you 1 in.

ohh rite..thats makes sense now. i like the idea of having add ons to the gun thats why chose the sp1 over the vibe.
sp1 and vibe are the same marker ;) Just sp-1 has a military body :)
Yeah contact your local site if you're wanting to use it on punter days, and find out if air or co2 is used :)
Also .. first thing to do GET A NICE COMFY SET OF GOGGLES AND DONT SCIMP ON THE PRICE! :p thats the most important thing. Spend at least £40 .. JT, V force, Events etc areall great masks, it just comes down to personal preferance :) try on before you buy ;)

goggles are a must then after you have purchased the marker you should invest in hpa and decent playing gear jersey and pants

ok thanks..ive got some alright goggles well me brothers they cost him bout £30 and played with them a few weeks ago and seemed fine. whats the advantage of air to co2 then if the sp1s designed to take co2..its cheaper i no hpa is more effience..but dont you have to fork out like £40 for bottle then get a regulator and all that.
Steelys are £45ish with reg. Contact your local site and see what they use. They use HPA buy an air tank, they use C02 then buy a C02 tank.

My best advice and i guess what all the others are saying is, answer these questions and we can give you a better answer and a good honest recommendation, may seem alot of questions but we HONESTLY want you to get the best bang for your dollar...
How much do you have to spend (comfortably)?
How many times have you played paintball before and is paintball the thing for you, not to mention will you intend playing at a better level in the future?
Have you tried any other marker other then a 'punter gun', if so what felt right to you and did any of the markers make a big impression?
To be totally honest i would say dont bother with a tank right away, plain and simply because if you are using the marker on a punter day you can and will ring the site to ask if you can use it, then be told they (probably) dont allow your own tanks and would far rather loan you a co2 or hpa tank to save any hastle (in my experience it is even doubtful they would charge for the loan).
Even if you intend doing walk ons etc then a decent site that offer these days will loan you a tank (maybe a small charge, but probs doubtful as they are more keen on a good health and safety record).
As for a hopper, do you intend using a ramping mode on your elec marker? In honesty i have never played a walk on etc that allows you to ramp (might i add before i get called all kinds of various names lol that in the christmas walk on @ ypc i did infact have ramp on my marker totally by mistake for the first game and tried my very hardest not to allow the marker to ramp and was shot out in about the first 3 mins of the game because of this lol). If you do not intend to ramp or shoot at a high ROF then a cheap hopper is ok, but personally i would recommend a egg 3 hopper (evolution 3) these can be purchased from fat bobs also and do what they say on the box... load quick, dont fail and are economical (not to mention chris bird tested ... he hasnt smashed 1 of them yet lol).
Please reply to the questions and i am sure the guys will point you in the right direction, my guess is it will be towards the classifieds where you can buy what you want far cheaper then brand spanking new.
Hope this helps and welcome to paintball :D
