Since PC\Vid games are an integral part of most `ballers lifes ,whats everybody playing at the moment?
I'm on with Delta Force- Black Hawk Down ,that came out on Friday...its not quite Allied Assault but still very good all the same:D .

Is it a bit like Tom Clancys "Rainbow Six"(also said in voice over man tones)?,too much dicking about planing the mission and not enough time terminating with extreme prejudice various terrorists of non specific ethnic\religious back grounds...even if we all know their really "rag heads" but are too PC to admit it:D

Im playing command and conquer generals atm. If you like real time strategy games (warcraft, age of empires etc) then you'll love this. Especially on the internet when you can whup other peoples asses with nuclear missiles, anthrax filled scuds and particle cannons :)

Really getting into ghost recon at the mo. Especially network games with the guys at work. Other than that, you can't fault MoH:Allied Assault. And then there's allways Quake 3 to fall back on...

This game is probably the greatest game ever only ever played on the playstation, and with system link it was even better never played the first one though only red alert and retaliation
I remember one christmas we had a C+C marathon till five in the morning jack daniels and a soviet mammoth tank rush...cant beat it :D :D

(tank rush = build lots of tanks and go full blast into the enemies base:cool: )

Tank rush??? We call them tank bashing, if your into this your going to love generals with the chinese Overlord tanks. Theres no rushing about them but they can run over any other unit and destroy it. oh and they can auto heal.:D :D
Otherwise theres always the Aurora rush. These little planes rule. get enough of them into the air at one time and you can obliterate any force in minutes:D

UT2003 is OK, but I have to be in the mood for it.
Gets a bit frantic for me and I only play about an hour of that at a time max! UT2003 takes quite a good PC too , to be able to play with good graphics.

Hey jamie - Blitzkrieg looks great, got roaring reviews.
I wan't it too! reminds me of sudden strike that had me hooked on that also.
I know if i got it i'd be on it alot! I am trying to get some time to continue playing freelancer, but time seems to be non existant right now.
Looking forward to another big game - the SWAT one, gotta get rid of some stress and shit in my life my meeting up with hopefully some guys from 2K3, and having a nice 2 days of balling at the SWAT.

at the moment i play alot of CS (counter strike) and TFC (team fortress clasic) on the pc

and of course HALO on the xbox and even tho ive completed every level on al the different difficulty levels including legondary :d it still does ent get boring

RTCW on the xbox started off a bit slow but gets a lot better, it's had me shouting and swearing at the telly aspeccialy at the zombies that engulf you in a wall of fire and the sound effects are fantastic.:D :D :D :D

Just been playing Digital Paintball mod for Halflife. It's actually not bad. Some of the maps are a bit dodgy, but the sup-air ball ones are really good - helps you to practice timing moves really well.

hey jamie have you played vietcong yet? This game f-in rox. I was trawling through a load of ahem software titles that didn't come with thier original packaging [or cds come to think of it]. And found this wondered what the hell it was so threw it in the pc. well a 1.8 gig install, a 25 meg offical patch and a 656k no-cd patch later and of I go.

OMFG it draws you in from the start and i just can't leave it alone, it makes me want to go out and get all those nam vids and dvds out again.

Argggh take that gook.;)

I found it! Besides, if you think I can afford to shell out £35 every time a game looks decent then ha ha ha! If I get a game and its that good - eg op flashpoint, halflife, C&C generals etc, then I'll buy it. However, most modern 'Game of the Year' games are basically the same and generally boring. Even Splinter Cell, while initially great, got boring as theres no incentive to play it more than once / try to kill as few ppl as possible.

god knows what release it is all I know is that I had to download the offical patch v1.20 and install that then doiwnload the no-cd patch from gamecopyworld, which was some strange format which caused me to download the unpacker for it. But it works fine now and blowing up gooks is mighty fine

Games of the year.. (last 12 months)
For me it has to be an RTS game.
It's pretty close between Warcraft III and Age of Mythology.
Maybe W3 just pips it with the spells and exp gained by the heroes.
Anyone played the frozen throne expansion yet?
I will have to pick it up when I get my new pc.

Played CS for abot 3 year now... bought CZ out of curiosity really... it is a bit erm.... 'samey' though as most other FPS games like u said... Can't see HL2 being a big jump in the genre either (apart from the audio/visual side of it).

Still partial to a good game of Age Of Mythology though :)

Played CS myself till all the cheating and hacking started. Now I just host little lan parites and small net session with my mates.


I think HL2 will be a improvement. The jump will come with the physical properties of the games. If you have seen demo movies you'll understand.


Doom 3 will be intresting too....a classic story re-told. Just hope it's not going to be a floop like all the other updated stories!

AOM not really my gig, I stopped playing fantasy games since Bloodwytch on the Amiga! :)

im playing pandorra tommorow on the pc, and UT2004, problem is, my graphics card isnt recignised by pandora tomorrow, anyone know why? its a radeon M10, or the equivelent to the radeon 9600. the game does run, but considering i have 1gb of ram, 128MB graphics card, and a P2.8, id want it to run a bit better than what it does now. oh and farcry rocks

i do have latest drivers however, it is a mobile one yes, and its a laptop so i need specific drivers from mesh, which i have, the game runs, its just jaggedy round the edges thats all.

Is that jagged lines as in screen corruption or as in general.

If it's screen corruption then you need to see if there's any patches for the game that might fix it. If the patches don’t work then I'm afraid you will have to contact tech support. You may get some where with them but it's very rare to see game developers support laptops.

If it's in general then Tom would be right in saying to turn the screen res up. Normally if you've got a beefy laptop you could get away with 1024x768 with out to much slow down. If it does slow down just tweak the world detail a bit.
Also you Graphics card on the laptop should support something called anti-aliasing. This smoothes the jagged line of any objects on the screen but it comes at a price of slowing the game down!
