Hi all

Just bought my third marker (a tippmann A5) and at a recent walk on it only chronoed at around 250 and that was the highest i could get it! another chap there said that he had a similar prob but all he did was fit somthing called a Mad Man Spring any ideas where i can get one of these from? Or was he having a laugh?

Thanks All

You can get madman spring kits from DoroPaintball in the states( i'm supprised fat bobs hasn't got em).
The spring kit consists of 3 main springs, soft, medium and hard which are colour coded and acouple of trigger springs and costs either $9 or $19 i can't remember which.
The springs are meant for the 98, which means you have to cut them down to fit A5 and obviously you cut them slightly longer than the standard A5 spring.

Just as a matter of intrest which barrel are you using, cos the flatline barrel could reduce FPS by about 40.
And also consider your CO2 temprature that has a big effect on velocity(thats if you're using CO2 that is)

I say that cos the last time i had trouble with paint breaking in my flatline i was running at about 270fps (tippmann recomend 280fps as the optimum velocity for the flatline), i put on my CMI truflite barrel and the velocity shot up to about 320fps.
The other thing you could do is pack out the main spring, i found some pop rivets the same size externally as the spring and internally as the pin, cut off the flange on the rivet and you end up with a little tube, pop it on the pin then put the spring on.
