Hey, i'm new to paintball and there's alot of stuff i want to know soo here goes.....
I'm set on buying a tippmann A-5 to start with and i hate to sound like a noob, but i'm very tempted towards kitting myself out to be a sniper, my best list so far is: j&j ceramic barrel, apex tip, polished internals, techt upgrades(or a q-loader system, not sure yet), a stock of some description, sight, bipod, ump shroud to fit it all, and thats it, i'm open to all sugestions on sniper kit.
I live in surrey/camberly/guilford, area anybody from there? any good sites/shops there? if you are and wanna chat with me add me on: danw80@hotmail.co.uk
What are the best uk paintball sites(internet) for buying gear???
Wheres the best place to buy my marker?(ebay's proving high in shipping and tax)
Thanks in advance,
Dan

hello and welcom, 1st of all, ur using a very good forum, which is run by the guys who run fatbobs paintball store, (theres a link at the bottom of the page)

ok, now for the equipment, try using a regular hopper 1st, as with a5s u can cyclone systems which means u can have a small profile hopper, and the gas drives the hopper, but not all like it, i myself am not too keen, but it does its job well. Get a good barrel and a stock and a sight of sum form, ive not tried a telescopic sight, ive used red dots, and they work well. U need to get urself to a 'walkon', where u can take ur own gun and paint etc.

oh sorry, best advice for me, is select a good comfy mask first, id rather spend more on a decent mask than waste it on pointless accessories which i wudnt need str8 away.

www.fatbobspaintball.co.uk for gud equipment, iff u want tippmann stuff, ive found

www.bzpaintball.com good, or ebay, but i highly recomend fatbobs!
-the people are the best in the world!and they kick ass,in advice and the game in hand.

Thanks, but in paintball snipering is about stealth, not range?
and i could gain range, with a apex or a flatline....

Thanks, but snipers use stealth instead of range in paintball?
Either way couldn't i get range with an apex or a flatline?

you need to understand paintball to realise that what you're after is not going to work

xissteve

yes, apex and flatline are good for range, i have a flatline, and if u aim slowly like a sniper, it is highly acurate, or at least its gud at getting my targets :p.

*Sits on the naughty step*
I spose your right, but i'm still determined soo...
can't i just ask a straightforward question and say 'If i were to become a sniper(wether, or not it will work) how would i want to kit out my gun? or is my setup as good as i could get?'
@dev dev: I'm talking woodsball

flatlines may give you distance, but they are so loud!( not very stealthy ) no matter what you do to ur gun, the paintballs will allways have a maximum distance, they dont work like 50Cal snipers. :D

There is no need for 'snipers' in rec-ball/woodsball or whatever you want to call it here in the UK as the games just aren't structured for them.
In the US,they play an important role(scout snipers) but their games are structured that way,48 hr games etc where you can get in position etc and forward info onto your leader.

Oily is right theres no such thing as a Sniper but you still get some people dressing up as them and wearing all the ding dong to look like one..

Or putting ACOGs or SUSAT's on their markers... etc
