worth it? or not? there are some very nice ones for £38 price range, has anyone experimented with them? do they work? or is it 2 much of a risk as if you get hit your sticking out like a sore thumb, a running bright yellow/blue/green/red bush

big sweaty hessian doesnt sound like something i would pay for to be laughed at for showing up to the field as a swamp monster in my opinion huge waste of money .... in my opinion that is
it works in big games where there is a fair distance at the start of the game. that way you can sneak up on people.
i only play woodlands anyway, with my soon to be custom BT-4 Assault so just wondering about it, yeah its gonna be sweaty theres a point, but just thinking of how effective it would be in woodlands games

i made one, not ass good at the 1ns you buy but i think they are worth it.. they definaty work, only thing is tho if your runnin about loads ur guna get really hot and sweaty.. but for the quality of the ones you buy, a really well spent £38 (the feeling of being invisable is soo cool!)

From what I've heard ventilation and adaptability are key. No suit is going to work all of the time and has to be adjusted to not only fit the time of year but the vegetation found on the playing field.
lol @ the swamp monster remark . tbh ithink anyone using a ghilli suit should be shot before the game starts as it takes the fun out of paintballing everyone should have same clothes to make it fair

well, if thats the pic of the 1 ur guna get, dont buy it... get a woodland one.
stafford markers are different as they are all limited to 15bps during play :P

plus you may get stood on, probably on purpose too ;)
tbh in summer your gonna sweat your arse off and get bitten to buggery by mozzies and in winter your gonna be laid on cold hard wet ground for what?? that slight chance no one will see you and someone will walk by for you to shoot. but hell if you've got the patience to wait like that then go for it
if your gonna go delta make sure to silence your marker as well

some markers can not shoot 15bps
so every where plays 15pbs ?
What about pump torniments ?
Plus some places only allow 12bps

true, but not all woods look the same... and i think he meant long grass, as in in a forrest... not grass as in turf, like on a speedball field :p
yeah i meant for as in running or moving through woods and tallgrass, climbing trees and sitting in the branches etc :D

i like the idea of a gullie suit but in fair when you actual playing i bet they wont work as your constanley having to keep moving unless your on a massive playing field. But if you have some spare cash then yea would be cool.

Now usually I would take the piss or for the sake of not getting banned.. "Extract the urine". But I wont.
What I will say is think about it.. its brown in colour... is where your playing brown in colour? You need to match your swamp monster coat to your environment. Personally if you want that military feel and cammo, simply stuffing foliage in to your assault vest if you have one..or clothing will work better and you can pull it out or stuff some in to match surroundings.

indeedy, but gullie suits work better in real warefare than paintball, its the same thing with other crazy milsim lovers, in paintball it aint always practical, but tbh, its a load of fun to do even if it aint that practical. i personally havnt tried a guille suit, but i wudnt mind havin a go. :p

hear,hear, that is true there are woodball players and supair players, i personally prefere woods as dressing up and going to war is fun, and the real death aint there, which is a plus. but at the end of the day, we all are on the same side and funding a great sport, its keepin me fit and slitely outa pocket, but meh, i love it. :D

yes to agree about foilage thats actually what we are told to do in the military in certian situations. But a gillie suit used by a very wise player can be extremely deadly. The question I have is what kind of player are you. if you are a patiant player and sit and wait for your prey to come to you. then you just might do well with a Gillie suit. But at ypc I can think of only one field where a Gillie suit would work well. so I would use if for bigger scenario games :)

if you are play a 20 min game then a Gillie suit will help you not..
big games that last all day then yes,, you may get into a position where you can hide for 4 hours and get 2 kills,,:p :p

Thanks mate. It took alot of doing that. Althought they have still missed my point.
Why have a Ghillie suit when the environment changes? You can it doesnt work.
So then ask yourself am I wearing it for its practical reason or the cool factor? For me if its the cool factor _
1 I will laugh
2 There not cool there bloody boiling.
but you ca adapt a ghillie. the point of them is cam and concelement, you do this by blending into your background and distorting the shape of the human body. im not saying i would want to run around everygame with one on, however i can see that some people might find them fun and they could be usefull for scenario games where you spend a long time in the field.

I can see the attraction. But the time involved with maintenance and setting up during play just isn't worth it most of the time. Your better off finding a few guys who know what they are doing and coordinating your movements, much more efficient IMHO.
That being said if its just for fun I would have a go as well if I had the chance. :D

Yah I agree I would have a go in a scenario game, But there is also one other factor to a gillie suit you might want to think about, its washing them! If you dont wash them thorough dry them completely they get nasty musty moldy quick! :(

Wouldn't the material/leaves/whatever guillie suits are made of catch paintballs, and any that got through would be much less obvious to a marshall... so the potential for abuse and cheating would be quite high, no?

NO NO NO NO NO! Ghillie suits only work well at range and if you don't move. you've got to remember paintball is a relativley fast paced game. by the time you've got yourself set up with the suit and in position either a) someone will have seen you getting set up and lit you up like a christmas tree or
b) game will be over and you'll be sweating like something that sweats a lot!

TBH mate, there is absolutely no point in buying a pre-made guillie suit, because if your in the army, all they have is some netting and woven cloth, and then they make their own guillie suits using whats around them and that suit their surroundings. the bloke that makes the E-Gullie probably lives in the middle of london, and is picking the shrubbery from the pathway...
but yeah go for it, ill look out for the big grey mass of leaves on the mud filled paintball site...
Playing the wrong sport if you wanna wear ghilie suits...

oh god, please dont start this thread again. and no guilles are not pointless if u are playing a long scenario game, a short 20 mins at ypc, no way, very pointless, blah blah, drivvel, blah blah blah.
i wore one once, on a big game, got ripper into verbally at the start, 2 games later, soon shut them up as they cant tell where you are at all !!
Ok - Snipers as thats whats we are trying to be relocate after a shot very rarely take 2 and usually have a spotter. But we are using paintball guns which are not at all accurate compared to Modern weapons and have a massive siognature as far as vapour goes especially on cold days! So when you take a shot it wont take long for them to work it out and you will get nailed. I cant see it being "do-able" even for fun. It would be right hardwork. Someone picked up on the pace of a game... that true to.. wpouldnt last long even in a big game scenario.
Maybe with MILES kit I would understand some sort of advanced laser tag but paintball I cant see it working.

yeh, i agree with ya Kenny, but i think a lot of people just like dressing up in them, its a loada fun really, i was thinking bout going to my mates wedding reception in a guille! practically, im not sure, i think it may work for a bit, but u wud be seen in the end, as in paintball, 'snipers' cant up their FPS unlike in airsoft, where that is alowed, at crazy rates at like 500 fps! that way that is real sniping, and u will be a distance away, so it wud be harder to be spotted, but in paintball, unless some rules and regulations change for scenario games, 'sniping' wont be as good as it were a real thing, if u catch my drift.
