Thought you might say that andy.
I have just been reading reviews of both and seem to be coming up with the same conclusion.
Matrix seems to be the one!

Plus.
If it needs to be serviced, i get the world renowned 'Fat Bobs' to sort it all out for me!!!
Are there any problems with a Matrix LED or would an LCD be better??

Why buy an Impy ? Smartparts are stopping production in favour of the "Nerve"(dumb name) soon.

How in God's own name, can a student afford a fly ?

Welsh

I am not quite as my title may suggest.
Have done a year in industry (paid work placement) as part of my course, worked before uni (year out) and during nearly every holiday while in uni.
Plus 'student loan':D

Oh yeah, its second hand!!

No offence intended.
p.s. Have a word with Damien for a completely unbiased opinion.:D

'Tis alright, none taken
I thought it was quite a funny comment.
I could just imagine the look on your face when you read it!
I am sure I will get plenty of oppinion once the sinners come on!

But that's because we've loved Angels ever since Robbie Williams sang a song about them. :p :D

I know that the song was written for me when I was swapping my Evolution for an Angel. I'm sorry Evo [sobs], I still love you, but I'm loving Angels instead...

[/silly]

As for the IR3 Fly, then I'd say wait a little bit. ;)

I know there is big things happening in the IR3 development with a new one coming out soon, but since it won't be new it doesn't matter.
I can't see thousands of very cheap fly's coming up for sale just due to a new one coming out!
Glad to hear of another sinner that changed from an evo to an angel.
Was another option!

Yeah, but I changed my Evolution Jetstream for an Angel LED back in '97/'98 (whenever) when they first came out. :D

I got #049, one of the few from the first 2 production runs sold to the public instead of going to sponsored teams! The original welded vertical, wooden grips and the mini-reg with the on-off button.

It was soon followed by one of the very early WDP-produced C&Cs, although they called them Limited Editions in those days & then an Eclipse.

As for IR3s being replaced... don't hold your breath. Just wait & see. :)

Well? I'm an impulse owner in name only at this point. I bought an impy on air for 250. "Bargin!!" I thought. Alas it was broken on, in, or before the first game of the tournament. So even i would say go for the angel!!

Welsh

Thanks Phil.
There seems to be a huge influx of matrixes on the market at the moment, but i've heard the build quality of them was not always good. Since I don't want another marker like my shocker (always broken) I think I will go for an Angel. Since they supposedly 'never die'

Yeah, but Smon you will never own another marker that you can fix with just a bubble from a bubble wrap sheet again!! The shocker will be soarly missed from the Scholars back line!!

Welsh

It will still be there as a backup.
I can't exactly sell it can I.
For sale 2001 shocker complete with bubble wrap to ensure it doesn't miss a shot!

Angels never die? who said that? They could be right but you do get lots of sick Angels. Luckily theres lots of Angel techs to nurse it back to health for you. Mind you my Dark angel Lcd has never been ill [apart from when I drained the battery and had the pin number engage]
