Yes get the laughter out the way you smuty lot. My velocity refuses to settle down it's up and down like a yo yo within 30fps. What's the likely causes. I'm thinking input from Preset reg and am getting an Angel Air setup to compensate. Any thing else that might work?
Eclipse Pro Series E-blade with Nexus Ram and Qev's. No rex dialer fitted yet.
Air input pressure won't make any difference at all from your preset. A cocker will run from about 500psi up to about 900psi quite happily as it is the inline reg that dictates the actual operating pressure of the marker. The only thing you may have a problem with the air system with is the recharge rate which would cause shot drop off when you shooting long strings of paint :)
Most likely cause is poor paint to barrel match and you getting some roll down the barrel before the ball is fired.
To test if it is this when chronying tilt the marker back so the barrel front is angled up and see if you still get the same varying readings.
Another cause can be poor consistency paint when some balls are bigger than others causing varying paint to barrel match.
Another thing could be a dirty inline reg causing it but the others above are more likely... hope thats of some help.

P.S. Keep away from Angel airs... god awful things they are :) Have had three and none worked as well as my Nitroduck air systems which cost about a third of the price :)

What I should reallly have said is the 'cheap' preset air systems have been way more trouble free than the Angel Air, Maxflo etc I have owned :) and at the end of the day I'd rather have something that just worked all the time :)

Ah that sounds promising. Cleaning tools at the ready. I'll do it properly this time and not blow air through it and so loose some of the internals like I did at Star Wars last year and spent an hour wandering through brambles looking for washers.
