Is there any automag owners out there?

As Airgun UK haven't replied to my email, I thought I'd ask on the forum

As the other weeks BG2K4 was the first game of paintball I'd played for a very very long time, I bought a spares kit for 'ye olde faithful L7', but the regulator seal didn't 'snap' into place as it should do when put in correctly...causing a first 'hot' reading over the chrono

I resolved this by putting an old seal back in (sad because I'd kept them all, but not so sad that it worked!)

Has AGD redesigned the regulator housing or have I bought a dicky spares kit?

I know if the hole in the reg seal doesn't allign properly with the regulator, this can cause a 'hot' reading and it possibly looks that this may be the case, but that could be down to my eyesight, but the reg seal still doesn't snap into place and when comparing the diameter of old and new seal together, there seems to be a slight differance

Any ideas anybody?

cheers

As far as I am aware nothing has changed. Remember that the seal will only snap in one way, so try turning it over and it should snap in. If it still doesn't then the seal could be faulty.

The "Hot" shots can be caused by dirt on this seal but remember that Automags usually creep a bit and it is quite common for the first shot to be hot if it hasn't been fired for a while. That's why Automag owners usually fire a couple of shots before they chrono.

alan

did all what you suggested beforehand, as I've still got the manual...and the video! but still had problems with the velocity

I'm going to stick with the old used seals and faff about with the new ones when I'm playing again

Another question anybody...

I've got 2 inline filters, one that is disc like and goes into the foregrip regulator and another that attaches to the QD connector from foregrip regulator to the mags regulator body

As I think the filters are a throw back to when I used CO2, is there a need for the filters?

I remember reading a thread on a US automag forum, stating that there was no need for the filters when using air, but it didn't give a reason as to why...I can't find the thread to reply to it, so....any ideas anybody?

cheers

ok, inline filters.
mainly used for co2 to filter out the impurities in thegas before it reaches your marker.
also used on air systems if the fill is not A1 breathable standard air.(triple filtered).
I use A1 grade air plus ive got an inline filter in place(rather be extra safe)and havn't needed to chanmge any seals on my reg or marker for 4 years now.
filters aren't as necessary with air ,but if youve got em i would use them.

I think we bought the last of the Automag spares kits. Not sure if any are left in the shop. I did ask Rob to keep me 2 for future use so no doubt he will have sold them.

Give Rob a call at the shop
