a little help please

im quite new to paintball,and ive just bought a ego 07,it has a zick kit,a 4.00 board,can any one help on if these sre standard or extras and the benefits with them.thanks:confused: :confused:

zick kit is an upgrade, someone correct me if im wrong but isnt 4.0 board code for 08 ego's? I thought highest release for the 07 was 3.20.

Zick rammer reduces the kick when the marker fires.

Your kinda right Kev the 4.0 was the first wave of 08 boards, the 07 cans still be flashed (£20 at the last masters or from eclipse) this simply updated the modes of fire, it might be there are some added stuff like the noid power and eye power aux speaker on off etc, i am not totally sure as i havent owned a 07 so not sure if that came as standard.

I cant remember what mine is now as i just got them both done again the other week but 4.12 had the start of the year (12bps MS08) fire mode the new software bangs on the the 10bps MS09 PSP 09 etc, 1 thing i did wonder and havent asked the question yet is why in 08 does it cap to bang on 12.0 bps yet the 09 mode caps to 10.0 and the rules actually state 10.5bps, i know when Nicky T done the thread with how to cap your marker manually he said put it down to 11.8 not 12 just incase however when the board was flashed it capped it to 12 bang on, very strange but never mind :D

the 07's software 3.10 was intruduced to support an "expansion board" for speaker and wireless radio for loaders etc on the 07 markers, your 07 baord requires the necessary pins to plug the expansion onto.

3.20 was the last version I knew of for the 07's prior to the new 09 mills software that they can now flash for you i have no idea what this version number is, this will govern things like ramp kick in and sustain rules (sustain was dropped to 6 from 7.5 pulls last year no idea if this has changed for 09 rules) along with bps limit.

i think the latest version is like 4.2 or summit. ego 8s and 9s get reflashed for free and others have to pay 20 quid.

edit** just checked and 4.24 is the latest software.

wow cheers guys!! im going to the masters on the 14th of june will the board be ok as it is or will it need reflashing before i play.:confused:

If you got MS08 just use that then set the bps cap to 10.3 (Stops from wavering over 10.5. And flashing usually can be done at Uk Masters which takes roughly 10-30 minutes and because 07 egos are out of warranty the flash would cost £20.
