I've got a cocker which is about to be taken for it's first outing next weekend. I've just put the C02 bottle on and making sure it all works.

However, it's be rather strange! It's firing when the trigger is released rather than when depressed. Cocking as you pull the triger, firing when you release it. I've taken a couple of small vids of it to show you. Hard to tell from the sound, but on the first video, the first pull of the trigger fired and cocked but from then onwards it was cocking on the pull, firing on the release.

Please can anyone help, I've not got a clue as I'm new to this lark! Dont want to have to use a rental when I've splashed out on this!

Download videos here:
Video One 964kb (http://www.nealxs.f2s.com/cocker1.AVI) Video Two 1.2Mb (http://www.nealxs.f2s.com/cocker2.AVI)

All help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I remember the firing stroke on a mechanical cocker is pull AND release, takes time to get used to, but no cockup, just how it works.

Ok? unless mine is faulty as well (and i have used it a lot without any problems) mine does the same. you pull the trigger back and hold it and the bolt stays in place until such point the trigger is released. so sounds ok to me.

no, its definatley not catching, when you release the trigger, the actuating rod should stay back and the back block moves forward.

in this case the actuating rod is moving forward with the back block, hence, it is barking (timings out), you can tell because air is released through the bolt on the release of the trigger.

ive owned a cocker for about 2 years now and have had many similar problems.

take it to pla net or belsales (quickly if you want to use it next week. it will take them about 10 mins to sort this problem out.

alternativley. try screwing the actuating rod in a little further. sometimes they arent screwed in properly and they then dont work correctly. (just an afterthought.)
