Yes mate. there are quite a few scenario games this year. The BIGGIE is probably "North v South" on the 3rd & 4th of May, followed by S.W.A.T. on the 5th & 6th of July. There are loads of others as well (I'm sure everyone will tell you!) but these are all I've got details on. PBUK magazine list a diary of events. Hope this helps :D
paintballs (R.P.Schearer) - how good are these ? and where could i order them from the net ???
paintballdirect.co.uk do some, also try planeteclipse, i think they've got some tomahawk premium. (sorry fat bob :) ) fat bob doesn't sell paint for good reasons. i always get mine from my local site, cos they have premium paint.
Always buy paint from your local site, if they do you a deal then it's their choice.
Support your local site, ask if you can help if they are building anything etc.
Remember if shops sell paint, sites don't. If sites don't they close down. If sites close down, there is no paintball. That means that you'll be playing cricket on a Sunday afternoon.
Andy
buying paint from local sites normaly costs double from the net..
E.g. 2500 pbs, £normal
from the net: 1000 pbs £cheap..... therefore 3000 pbs would cost £up to 3 times less!!
But i will ask if they have an deals on the paint ....
I understand what you are saying but when you buy paint from a site when you play you are not just buying the physical paintballs themselves.
You are buying the free paint you were just given, the free gas that powers the free gun that you are using.
The marshalls who are organising the day, the food at lunch time, the insurance that you are covered by. The land that you are playing on, the buildings that you are playing in, the equipment you have just broken or the goggles you have just scratched.
All in all for around £30 you have just had the best day out EVER which is why you are now interested in paintball and on this forum.
It's a bit like beer and pubs.
The local off licence can sell you a can of Lager for 75p, whereas the pub may charge £2.00. But when you buy from a pub, you have not just bought the lager, you have bought the glass that needs to be cleaned when you have used it, the large breasted barmaid who you oggled as she served you, the nice log fire that you sit next too whilst watching the free Tyson fight on the free Sky TV.
Now if you were not using the facilties but were just going to buy paint to play at a comp somewhere then that's different, as a site will then sell you paint at a much cheaper rate as it costs them nothing to supply them (like a shop) it would then be best to find a site to buy from rather than a shop. The site will always be able to help you. If you can't find a site that will help, just e-mail me
andy@fatbobspaintball.co.uk and I will find your nearest site to you who will help.
At the end of the day, you have your paint at the same price as if a shop were to sell it, it would have been kept properly and fresh, it would be good quality as the site would have tested it as they used it (they will have had years of experience of paint). The site would have made the £5 or £6 pounds which would then have gone back into the development of the site and ultimately Paintball itself.
Remember that not only do we as players rely on sites being successful, but also the shops themselves. Fat Bob's would not now be the largest online paintball shop in Europe if there were no sites and it would be good if other shops were to recognise this as well.
So in summary, If you are not playing at a site with the paint you want, go to your local site and explain that it's for a tournament. If they can't help you, e-mail me and I will find your nearest site who will.
Remember always though. You cannot take your own Paint to a site in the same way you cannot take your own beer to a pub.
Comments welcome and expected!!

Thanks for your help andy, but im sure you realise why i brought it up as im a full time student with short money..
I would need help from a local site because i am quite new with the experience etc.
I guess the main solution is for me to get a job again and afford to pay for the paint at the local site :D
Thanks again.
Ash.
FaDeH and others,
Basically, if you want to play paintball 'regularly' then you shouldn't really be going to your local site like a first time player. There are many tournaments and 'walk-on' events across the country every month, at which more experienced people play, usually with better kit. These events are ususally sponsored by the leading paint suppliers (Draxxus, Severe, Zap, RPS etc) who will be only too happy to sell you £cheap paint, because they're not incurring any costs. Like Andy says, sites that cater for the newer players have to make money to stay running, and they do this by making a profit on paint.
Before I start to ramble, if you want £cheap paint, then get yourselves some kit and play some 'proper' events, rather than trying to take paint you bought £cheap on the internet or wherever down to your local site. As Andy says, if the sites dont make money, then they close. If sites close, then less paint gets sold. If less paint gets sold then paint manufacturers go out of buisness. If paint manufacturers go out of buisness, then so does paintball in all shapes and forms.
Ok, well, I rambled anyway but you take my point I hope. Basically, if you really enjoy paintball, get some kit and join your local tournie team.
Tom

Not the first time it's happened either. If you want to ask a separate question, people, then please start a fresh thread, otherwise you're just undermining the person who started it originally & their query doesn't get answered.
