Hello all and thank you in advance for your assistance in these matters. My son (13) and I (40) are just getting started in the paintball experience. So of course I had to go out and get the equipment to make this an exciting adventure. I talked to the guy at sports authority, he said he paintballed perhaps a few times himself, so at this point I would like some input on the kits he recommended. The markers are (I had to buy 2, one for me and 1 for my son) The PMI, Paranha GTI these kits came with a marker, hopper, 2 100 round tubes with waist do-dad, goggles with face mask, and a 9 oz air tank, I had to get 2 20 oz tanks, I assumed for the big battles, the kit also had a few spare parts and a squeegee. That’s it for the kit, etc. I noticed that neck guards are sold, are they a good idea? I live in Oceanside, California, and there is a Paintball field on Camp Pendleton, that is where we go, actually we have gone once, but I played once before that with my church, I was quite surprised with the glazed look that was in my pastors’ eyes, WOW! hehehehe. Well any help with feedback on what I got as well as anything else I might need or even a location for Paintball fields would be greatly appreciated. Also where is a good place to buy paintballs? Also what is a good price for em as well? Are there any real differences in Paint ball quality? I really bounced around with my questions/ comments, but again your help in this matter is greatly appreciated, oh yeah, the kits I bought cost $99.00 each, they were marked down from $199.00 each is this fair price? Thanks again.

Regards,

Jeff Corr

You were short changed, if one is $99 then two should be $198 not $199. (the original nike tick cost $1) But otherwise a good deal.

Neck guards can be a good idea, especially if you don't want to have to explain the hickie following a neck shot to your other half. Saves me a boat load of talking.

But wearing a box playing is not the most practical protection.
