Hi all

Right... I have just got myself a second hand cocker.

Now I need to know whats what.

I got a 1.1 litre 3000psi air bottle with it but I checked the date on the side and it said yr1999. As far as I know your meant to add 3 years onto that date and if it exceeds today's date then the bottle has passed its sell by date and should not be used. (please correct me if i'm wrong)

With air attached it fires fine (to my small standards) so I wont know what to do to make it better yet.

I eventually want to get a vert feed body kit for it, but before I start modifying it I feel I need to know how it works and what the different parts on the marker do. I have attached a picture of the marker.

I am totally new to this type of marker as I used to play with a Spyder. Any help will be great.

Cheers

You are right in saying the air bottle is out of test, however, air bottles have a 15 year life - all you need to do is give/send it to HPAC to get them to hydro test it. Then the bottle will be usable for another 3 years.

Out of interest, where did you get the cocker from? It looks really old skool!

I got it from this guy at leicester rebel. I think he buys in cheap markers, repairs them and sells them. It cost me 2 hundred quid.

I dont know anything about cockers (technically) but i guessed it was old cos the serial number was a lot lower than my mates 2001 cocker.

My plan was actually to build a marker using a cheap cocker as a base. So I would get new parts and put the older ones aside until I have a new marker and an old one (to sell)

so I wasnt concerned with the age or condition as long as it worked. this thing is so much smoother than my spyder, it kinda takes the mick.

how do I get in contact with HPAC?? That could save me a few quid, so I can get on with saving for the e-blade trigger frame.

have a look to see if there is anymore date stamps on the bottle
anywhere. or possibly a sticker. it will say re tested (date) by
(name of company ) then a telephone no.
if not, yes it neads re testing.
what type of bottle is it. what does the label say.
if you could put up a pic or tell us what the label on the bottle reads we can tell you if the bottle will be good for another 3 or 5 yrs depending on the type of bottle. (then it will want testing again)

H-PAC services ltd phone 01902 494988.
e mail enquiries @hpac.co.uk
costs about 30 quid inc po0stage , take the reg off the bottle before you send it. ( dont forget to completely empty the bottle before you take the regulator off.)

it says

powerpulse air products

luxfer gas cylinder

cp and tp 200 bar

serial number A1182

certified by lloyd's register

date of manufacture 11/99

if any of that makes any sence to you then "i am not worthy"

The bottomline under the trigger is a MaxFlow bottomline reg.

which actually has a reverse thread (very old), does that mean i need to ask for a reverse threaded bottle when getting a new one???

is it a plain alloy bottle or a half wrap or full wrap bottle.
if it is a half wrap it will say HSE-AL-HW1 on the bottle.
if it is full wrap it will say HSE-AL-FW1 on the bottle.

the cp (constant pressure) and TP (test pressure) should read different. mine says cp 200 bar, tp 300 bar
