Do you actually get paid for the job or is it voluntary ?
Is it usually a family business that runs the sites so family members only or can you apply from elsewhere ?
Do you need a lot of experience or will training be available ??
Best bet is to go along and talk to your local site.
You do usually get paid.They might give you an unpaid trial to see if you are any good and then offer you some work if there are no complaints.
You would learn from the others marshalling there, unless you have played a bit before, where you won't need much training!!

when i became a marshal i'd only been Paintballing TWICE, and i hardly new nothin', but i just asked for a job and they wer jus like...UUUH, OK!
Been marshalling for 3 years now.

ive been marshalin' 4 about 2-3 months now, 'n' it's wellll fun, except when you decide to ave a game and the other marshals think it's funny to give you a good leathering from close distance!!!!!:mad:

yeah know wat u mean. thers air at our site but wen ther are too many punters we have to use co2 as well. soooo cold especially if u get it on ur hands!

redterror id start running now, that shocker is insane, had a quick go with it yesterday, i say a quick go i think i got through most of the hopper in about 3 seconds, lol. must resist urge to buy shocker...... fighting....... fighting....... :D

i'm not a chav!! most of the sh*ts in my year are but i'm not, i'm more like the person the chavs pick on for being 'uncool' and not smoking or getting drunk just before school!!!
i'm going to put an estimate on 9 in 10 people under 18 round here are chavs...we even have a chavtowns page here (http://www.chavtowns.co.uk/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=588)

and what exactly would you classify as a chav?? hey im a popular guy i get nice girls i got to clubs, just because someone has a life and is deemed popular doesnt make someone a chav! if your talking about someone who wears burberry hats and tucks their socks into their trainers then good on ya :D

i'd classify a chav as: 4 ft but thinks he's 6, tucks tracky' bottoms into socks, wears cap to side(not back or front but side), says "ya ding" alot, tries to nick your bike while you're still on it, and hangs around infront of a 'Jacksons' store for 6 hours tryin to codge money for fags.
anyone that thinks that their "hard" and walk arround looking for trouble...people that get into fights and booze
LOL cheap scum, thats all chavs are. they make up their own stupid fashions because they cant afford proper decent gear. Burberry used to be a respected fashion design until chavs decided it would look cool with their nike airs or whatever they wear!! LOL :D
anyway just realised we have gone Waaaaaay off topic so i think we should stop this conversation now lol.
Caps to side? Hmm i do that like... that make me a charv? Charvs round head balance them on the backs of there heads so teh peak (which is bent at 90 degrees) poitns as upwards as possible. Also, nike airs are old skool!!!

where would you like to start marshaling??? how old is old enough?
i would like to start marshaling at skirmish high wycombe, as it is my local site, and i know the owner quite well now. 16 is old enough at that site, due to insurance reasons or somthing...and i'm 15 at the moment, will be 16 in october (on the 3rd if anyone would like to buy me somthing nice :) )
well my mate in california started when he was 16, he gets paid $20 an hour plus discounts of any paintball equipment, and free games for him and his mates whenever he wants them. Seems like a fair deal to me :p
that's £10 an hour, so for working 8 till 5, that's 8 hours, like £80 for a days work! Plus you do something that you actually enjoy...rather then being an idiot on a checkout asking someone if they'd like cashback
plus you dont need to waste the money on paying for games because you get them FREE!!! so you can concentrate on buying a brand new ion or shocker LOL :D

just like to point out the fact im i alone in getting paid just £35 at the end of the day and i work from 7:45 till 6:00 maby 7:00 sumtimes:( is it just me or does any one else get paid this?
ouch thats a long haul, but look on the brightside at least your getting involved in something you enjoy. Id rather work as a marshal than at tesco's as a cashier

im just wondering tough does anyone else get paid this we dont get paid hourly we get paid a set wage so if we finish at 8 will still only get £35 am i being scamed?

you might as well have just painted a big red cross on your tackle with a little sign please shoot me here, lol. And no not yet, and hopfully it wont ever happen, but im getting a pair of slide shorts, to soften the blow should the worst happen. :D
or try tucking in a hand/beer towel in too.
