Tippman A-5 Max velocity

Hi all

A freind just got a new A-5 yesterday and we took it out for a bit of pratice.

Being the safe minded lot that we are we also took our chrono out as well to check all the guns.

We decided to sett them around the 270 mark. All was going well, making slight adjustments here and there, then we came to the A-5.

First shot 410 :eek:
Second short the same.

Scratching heads we found the velocity adjuster, gave it some tuns and tried again.

400 :eek:

In the end it must have took about 15 to 20 mins of twisting to get the velocity down to 279.

Is this normal that the gun should be set so high out the box?

my spider was over out of the box. not by as much, but a fair bit. i dnt know much about it, but maybe it can depend on ur gas system an stuff. or they just made it bad

What gas were you using? And how long did you leave your tank standing around and where? Was it a hot day when you tried out your equipment?
