i kept reading everywhere that full auto was banned in this country and thought why , well i got my new Mongoose yesterday(cheap but effective) and out of curiosity i set it to full auto and filled the hopper with just under 200 balls.

turned the hopper on and pulled the trigger.............

point 1... it scared the crap out of me how fast the buggers were coming out of the gun and thought to myself "i wouldnt want to be in front of the barrel"

point 2 ..........set gun back to semi auto lol

now i know , ITS BLOODY DANGEROUS

i was under the impression that it was illegal to even have a marker capable of full auto in the uk not just using it

So called "Fully Auto" paintball guns are not actually fully auto in the true sense.

They have electronically assisted triggers.

Take away the battery and not only are they no longer "Fully Auto" but don't even fire.

alot of markers, like mine are fully capable of being fully-auto (with the electronically assisted trigger as fatbob says) but on the back of my grip.. there is a button to turn on the power to my marker.. then i have a "tournament legal cover" on the button that switches between firing modes.. so i cant actually switch to full-auto without getting a screwdriver to the cover, switching the button, then screwing the cover back on :p

but i never actually tried firing on full-auto, so i just keep the cover on, and my firing mode on semi-auto :D

yep mine is the same , its got a jumper and dip switches under the grip , so by the time i tried to unscrew the grip , change it to full auto , then find the screws i dropped , then put it all back together either i would have be shot to pieces or the game would have finished

Was there no tourney lock or similar with it? How do you switch the modes?

if you simply have abutton on the back of the grip to switch between modes and there is no cover for the button then i dont think you will be able to play in any tournaments until you do get a cover or something to the same affect, because no matter how honest you are, its still just a finger movement away from switching your marker to full-auto, which is of course, illegal in the paintballing world (our world at least).

try checking with the manufactures and the place you bought it from. (unless of course you bought it directly from the manufactures, then u just contact them alone :p)

I will read the instructions again, but as I have buttons on the back would i have to put a dye stickey grip over it, would that be OK??

depends.. does the sticky grip leave the buttons accessible? if not i guess it MIGHT be ok, you'd have to check with others who use the sticky grips as i dont myself, so i dont know it they leave them accessible, and if not, wether it is counted as a legal cover.

Its OK i asked SgtBarnes and he said there is a plug i can unplug and it dissables the modes, panic over!!

Just out of a matter of interest, where is this plug on the mongoose as I'm not that bothered about full-auto (just a waste of paint :) )

Right I am now confused. I've popped the cover off and lifted the LCD off and my board looks nothing like yours.

This is a pic of my board.

Seems a bit daft that you can disable it on one and not the other.

SgtBarnes

going by the pic that gitface posted , it looks like you can only disable them on the led version , seems wierd that its only possible on the cheepest version when you would have though it should have been the other way round

Well had a look through the massive manuel again :D and nothing.

I think I might send an e-mail to the manufacture asking them.
