Hey guys,
I had my proto rail out today for the second time since i got it and its gubbed... tried changing all the o-rings and lubing it up to no avail. One of the lads who worked at the site stripped it down and said it was some little air pipe near the front that appears to have been ripped of by the gun firing? apparanly it's meant to stay in place on its own but has came off?
Any ideas?
It's under warrenty if i can get it fixed on that....
Cheers
What exactly is wrong with it? Saying it's gubbed up means nothing! Its like going to a&e a d saying i've got an injury then sitting down! Is it leaking air, just not firing but cylcling is the noid clicking? Whats it doing/not doing?

Uhh as I understood it some pipe in the solinoid but has blown off? I'll get a picture tomorrow...the gent told me the name but it escapes me

Well,
I phoned FBs at lunch and the dude was mucho helpful and suggested that I check the battery and the o rings and lube - which had all been done. Thought i'd give it a once over and try get that picture of the bit that was failing...well....
Couldn't get the bit with this little hose that is not on properly (i guess it is though!)...however as i was packing up to send it to FBs i noticed the regulator was set to max...turned it down and sure enough the sound of leaking air went away. Filled up the hopper and fire off about 30 balls in the bathroom before it got a bit slower and then just stopped working at about 500psi... I'd guess that is pretty normal?
It seemed to fire very strong then there were some bouncers and then the balls started flopping out the front of the barrel before eventually just getting stuck... sound normal?
Sounds to me like you've run out of air.

Well if i have, then it seems yon regulator being up full was causing the leak and i guess if the pressure was constantly being released then thats why it wouldn't fire?

Could be that, or it could be you were using the air by shooting it, "it got a bit slower and then just stopped working at about 500psi", the manual (which i've just read for you) says the input pressure needs to be between 400-850 psi. Fill your bottle and try it again.
And in your bathroom isn't the best place to shoot paint >.< don't go outside and do it though, just dry fire it without paint. No mess/waste. :)

Uhh I think I haven't explained myself clearly enough, I do apologise. I'm totally new to this.
Two weeks ago gun was out in another walk on, worked fine apart from a few barrel breaks.
Sunday's walk on just there
On the site the Air was at 3000psi (just filled), On the day the course of events was
1) bottle filled
2) chronod successfully (maybe what...15-30 balls?)
3) Bottle disconnected
4) Bottle reconnected
5) Game starts
6) Fired off maybe 30 more shots and ducked about a bit when the barrel blocks so I head to the safe zone, clean up and test fire. Test fails, balls stick in barrel consistently after a couple of tests
7) Head back to chrono zone and give it a look over - same issue
8) Sit down and look though manual
9) Marshall helps out, we strip it down, relube, retest and fail
10) strip down, replace orings, fail
11) I get a replacement, marshall has a look (very cool guy, was most grateful for him putting so much time in)
12) Marshall reckons some line is coming off in/near the solonoid (he said the part name which I forgot on the way home...dafty that I am)
13) I put it back in the box and someone lends me another gun
Then today I phoned up Fat Bobs, the gent gave me a few things to check before sending it back. So did the checks, tried to find this thing the marshall was talking about but couldn't get into that part of the gun with the tools that came with it and I was putting it away i noticed then that the "moderator" was fully out (which is the highest setting on this marker). At that point i remembered reading that it shouldn't be fully out and consequently turned it back in a few times and then found that it was actually fine and it was my fault for not checking that initially.
I think what happened when the gun ran out of air was normal and i was aware that the dropping PSI would result in the gun no longer firing.
Thanks.

Yeah I seen the error in my ways... 1 sheet of carboard did not stop the balls either... had to get the mr muscle out and buy the girlfriend a sweet apology for making a mess in the bathroom haha
