View Full Version : Erex Pro not firing every time...

I don't quite know how best to explain this so bear with me..... rattled a few hundred balls through my marker last night just to make sure everything was working hunky dory, but after maybe 50 shots in quick succession, the rate of fire slowed right down, and I noticed that it wasn't firing every time I pulled the trigger, but the shot counter was still going up. I put it down to inexperience last night, but now I'm not so sure and I'm worried it could be something more sinister. It seemed to recover after not firing for a few seconds, but then after another load of shots it'd do the same again.

It also didn't fully re-cock a couple of times, but when I pulled the cocking pin backwards there was very little tension on it until it got very near to the end of it's travel. Don't know if this is related, hopefully it's just a little setup niggle.

Anyone got any ideas? Sorry if I'm asking a very basic question but as I've been out of the game for a long time and this is my first semi I'm baffled. If it helps it's running on CO2 at the moment until I can afford an air tank.

And for an extra point, the other thing confusing me is this... when I turn the marker on, the rate of fire defaults to 10, and this can be changed up or down. Does this make any difference when the marker can only be used in semi-auto mode?

Cheers guys :D

You answerd you own question!!! it is the c02 freezing up the gun! if you have not fitted an anti syphon tube then i would! and try to get some air as soon as possible! if you go to walk ons see if you might be able to borrow there air for a while.

Ah-harrrrr. Bugger. Yes it has got an anti-syphon tube fitted, I guess I'll just have to live with it for a few games then :(

Cheers bud.

What d'ya reckon to the rate of fire thing then, O wise one?

not sure about that i had it set to 10 and 17 but could still fire at rougly the same rate so i suppose it depends on if you can pull the trigger at silly speeds? i did manage to chop a few at 10 bps though and a couple of times at 12. but that was me being silly trying to pull way to fast. :D

There's no chance of that, my best efforts at walking the trigger make me look like I'm having an epileptic fit :( Probably get no more than 7 or 8 a second, I think it'll be a while before I can outdo this beast

I'd also check that the main spring is ok and that you have a fresh battery

Somtimes after a while the selonoid shifts a bit on spyder type e-frames so the sear doesnt get the full force of the selonoid to fix this:

Take the frame off and unscrew the small grubscrew at the top of the marker then use a screw driver 2 lever the selonoid to side it needs to be, then screw the grub screw back in while the selonoid is still under pressure , preferable using some blue threadlock .

Otherwize it may be the battery, i found that cheap batterys dont really cut it, you should be able 2 get away with duracell ultra but your better off buying a recargable 1, UNIROSS make pretty decent 1's

if that still doesnt fix it, this will almost certainly stop it, but its not an idea fix by anymeans: put a couple of washers between the frame and the body. this will mean the sear will have to move less to realease the hammer

hope this helps

try removing the gripframe & having a look down either side of the sear, if a little bit of grit gets lodged in there, it'll cause the sear to stick.

Is the sear adjustable on the E-Rex pro? Can't remember.

How much C02 is left in your tank? Maybe there just isn't enough to keep up with the pressure so it won't fire properly and will cause drop off.. (due to weakening pressure of tank being nearly empty).

Markers can be a bit funny for 1,000 shots, cause you all kinds of worry and then suddenly they will be fine for the rest of their life.
