We have just got the whole of the new Game Face / Diablo range of markers.
Excellent quality and very cheap.

who cares? they rock, i especially like the fade anodised one. my favourite, i might be buying a backup marker quite soon methinks

Oi!, tourney tart, stop slagging us rec-ballers off.
1) it's got a barrel that a projectile is fired from,
2) it's got a pistol grip, to hold it with,
3) it has a trigger, you pull to fire the projectile,
4) it has a magazine for you to fill with projectiles,
5) it's got a bolt & hammer which rush forward when the trigger is pulled, to fire the projectile
6) you shoot people with it.
Now then, what the hell do you think it is ? eh?

Anyway my point is that whoever came up with that name for a gun needs his/her head sorted...

oh btw fadeh, it's called a marker cos it was originally used as a tool to mark trees with, so the foresters knew which ones to cut down :), and hence it's called a marker :)

Don't know about glue guns but nail guns have a trigger a hopper or such for the nails, something that hits the nails out of the gun like a bolt and they go bang and you can shoot people with em.:D :D :D
Last bits not recomended though.
As far as i know paintball markers were invented for forresters to mark trees for felling so in my view if all you shoot at is trees then its a marker if you shoot people its a gun.
I've got a marker that looks like a gun because i hit more trees than people

I would just like to point out that the only reason that Andy put Guns is that he knew that 'Recballers' would not understand what he was talking about if he used the correct name 'markers'!:rolleyes:
Quite right Welsh, in fact we have spoken about this in great detail this weekend.
Paintball equipment should be called a marker if it is used for marking trees or other objects and a gun if it is used for shooting people/opposition.
So recballers who shoot lots of people and use small amounts of paint to do so should call it a Paintball "Gun".
Then you get really good at paintball and join a team.
Tourny players who are in a 5 man team and shoot 2000 in one game, by definition, should call their equipment a Paintball "Marker"

Just to aquit meself here, FaDeH, I'm not on youre side. Ever.
I call it a marker as well, I was just trying to make a point with a little argumentative humour in it, which has obviously gone tits up.
Welsh. Stop putting rec-ballers down, that's how we all start. (I'm also twice your f'kin size. Get it ?:D ) that goes for all of you.
We all play the same sport, so why put rec-ballers down ? Some of us, just don't have the money to join a team & let's be honest, some of the teams out there are so sodding cliquey you can't always get anywhere near them.
Wouldn't it be nice if everyone were nice.:rolleyes:

wether call it a marker or a gun its the same diffrence
ok take the sabby 4 exsample it duznt matter wether u call it a paintball gun or marker its still the same gun/marker (i wont pick one of prefrace incase it starts another argument) it still shoot paintballs and u still have fun with it
one more point is it me or do torny players just shoot wildly and hope they hit somone? cuz its got to make more sence picking ur moment and getting a few choice shots off rather than just keeping pressing the trigger. its got to be simpler and cheeper
Back players may appear to shoot wildly, when in fact it is tactical.
They keep the opposition in behind their bunkers so that the front players can go and mug their asses!
Means you get quick, action packed games!

Just a point to the layman (whoever he is) when your explaining to friends and colleauges what you did at the weekend and why theres a bloody great purple bruise on the side of your neck do you say I got shot by his marker (and spend 10 minutes trying to explain what a marker is. ie how did he manage to run up and draw that on you) or gunshot wound.
I know were trying to protect the sport but when your trying to encourage people to join in using our terms like marker, Autococker or that timmy was really fast, then your just blinding them with geeky ness.
If your talking to a journalist use the word MARKER
If your talking to your mate use the word GUN
What if you're talking to your mate who is also a journalist?

Is was Manc union - the Manchester team that won the PA cup - was really cool to see them on the TV :)
