right, ongoing arguement for years with my mates and my family;
Is the chocolate on a chocolate digestive, on the top or the bottom?
i think its on top, but some may argue that on a 'normal' digestive, the other side is the top.

Technically its at the bottom,I can vouch for this as my other half was a test baker at Foxes biscuits in Batley:D
but do you eat your biscuits with the chocolate underneath?, well i dont.
but then i see how it 'technically' is underneath because of the un-chocolate ones, but is the chocolate digestive a whole new biscuit - so its on top...............
the only way we can solve this is by the poll, it all rests on that...
p.s. thay have to make them with the chocolate on top, or it will drip off!
Right! When i open a pack of chocolate digestives (The tube type) The first thing i see is chocolate! Therefore the chocolate MUST be on the top! QED!!!

Use the buttered toast method: drop one on the floor and whichever side lands against the carpet is the top.

now, you know you cant compare chocolate digestives with jaffa cakes, they're in a different league. Less of your foolish comments:D
oh and as for hob nobs, well, i would say they are in the same boat as digestives. me being a biscuit expert an'all.;)
Like the man said, Jaffa cakes are totally different. Due to the gentle curve on the non-chocolate side, science and physics rear their ugly heads. Aerodynamics and all that, not enough space to go into here, but only a member of a health club would class digestives and the mighty Jaffa in the same group. Heathens!!!!

Jaffa cakes and Hob Nobs are "true" biccys(are Jaffa cakes really cakes though :confused: ) as they were made from scratch,Chocolate Digestives are hybrids ,upside down digestives with choccy on their arses:D
Proper biscuits are the apple strudel cookies from Sainsburys...mmmmmmmm:D :cool:

i think you wanna go to biscuit school. now bourbons sit in a whole different league, with custard creams, and suchlike biscuits, and have no relation with our old friend the chocolate digestive. now these 2 layered biscuits, bring this whole arguement into a new 3-d perspective, now we dont wanna go there do we! thats like a-level biscuit education.
oh and as for ginger nuts, well, erm, me thinks chocolate ones dont exist, so they dont fit into this arguement.
i think you guys should vote on the subject at hand - chocolate digestives.

never mind top & bottom, Do you hold the chocolate facing left, or right, when you dunk it into your coffee ?:D If you're right handed & hold the choccy side to the left, when you go to take a bite, the choccy will be the top. But if you hold it t' other way, it'll be on the bottom & you'd drop it all over yourself. (If you're left-handed, you're not normal & don't deserve choccy biccies!!):D
Sacrelige!!!!! Chocolate digestives dunked in COFFEE???????
Everyone knows they are loads better when dunked in a Hot Chocolate drink. (So are Bourbons, but thats another forum).
Having served my apprenticeship in the engineering trade, we had plenty of time to study the fine art of dunking; maximum permitted dunk time for each type of biccy, maximum rate of travel between cup and mouth so as not to cause a soft fracture of the dunked biccy etc. etc...... or is this just getting silly???:D

If I so much as suggest getting owt than ultra high caffeine BANZAI coffee, at work, I'd be nailed to the workshop door!:eek: Anyway, dunking choccy biccies in coffee, gives you an excelent (if gritty) mocha.:D

Engineers and Hot Chocolate: a match made in heaven. All the buzz of a sugar rush, but without the annoyance of the caffiene keeping you awake for too long. Come on guys, you know it makes sense.

after hearing from the production manager from mcvities, the chocolate is aplied on the top of the biscuit, therefore the chocolate is on the top.:D

Cut out the middle man & stick a bar of dairy milk in the mug! You can always eat the choccy biscuts later. Best of both worlds.:D

right lets close this subject once and for all. I've sat on this info since the thread started and now somebody has decided to start it up again its time to cut it down.
Buy a packet of mini choccy digestives and it says on the packet. Milk chocolate topped mcvitees digestive biscuit.
Ergo the choccy is on the top.
