Hi, played paintball last weekend in the snow with my mongoose, but the gun let me down big style. At home I emptied my gas bottle after fireing 1100 shots down my garden no probs. Got to the site, had the marshals fill my bottle. When I fitted the bottle to my gun, turned the valve and the gas just escaped and wouldnt stop! The gun froze solid (Co2). I decided that it was probobly an o-ring gone somwhere and after a couple of atempts was to peed to sort it out.
At home next day, the gun was fine! My mate reckons they overfilled the bottle? as they were not using the scales provided, and his own bottle weighed in at 4.8. Or was it just Co2 playing up in the Cold weather? The mongoose does seem like a rough gun, but this was mad! Any Ideas?

Thank god then! Mine was the only gun out of 8 that had trouble though. Was terrified it was dead or something! Roll on summer!!!

you might find that it was just your hammer holding the valve open and it was so cold that the co2 wasnt able 2 recock it.

Not got an answer for you piercee, but pleased to hear its not just me. I shot same amount of balls through all worked great, turned off, turned back on again and it just gassed through and froze. I then took it back to the shop and told them the problem, so they put the bottle on and tested, but everything was fine, but told some of the o rings might have got a bit damp and not sealed properly. I have now moved onto air ( which is meant to be dry) and the same thing happened again. So as i said no answers to OUR prob, but will work on it.
Cheers Mr B.
It will just be the cold.
With Co2 it's always best to have the bottle filled the day before you play, not on the morning when you play.
The bottle will be so cold that the pressure of the co2 will be so low the marker will not function correctly.
The next day when you try it somewhere else the bottle will be warm enough for the pressure to have risen again so the marker works.
Solution
1) Have 2 co2 bottles and have both are filled the day before you play. When one gets too cold to use, swap it for another.
2) Buy an air bottle.
3) Don't play in the winter.

How about carrying a warm towel or something like a hot water bottle in my bag?
