last time we played, a few wek back, got shot by a marshal. Was on a punter day playing bomb the bunker when i saw a bin in the bunker.

Thought this would be a great tactic and stuck it up at the window as a sheild to see where they all were. Crouched back down and got shot in the thigh.

Wondering who the hell shot me turned round to find gasman had shot me to tell me to leave the bin alone! :p

May have been from a distance but hurt like hell

Delta force marshals are no longer allowed to shoot customers since an incident last summer

what incident?

One of the managers was having some punter-related problems. He tried to deal with it, but it escalated and the net result was Delta force almost got sued, despite the fact that it was entirely this blokes fault. hence the 'guildline'. This was only at one site though, but as a large company i assume they have made this standard policy

I dont see how a marshal can justify shooting someone for staying in the same place  . What about snipers??

erm..snipers and paintbal dont rely go together, i.e there's no point cos no-one has much of a range or accuracy advantage.

Snipers = Campers

yeah i agree its sort of a myth in paintball, but how about players who set up a position and wait to ambush the opposition should they be penalised because of their playing style?

Not a myth at all TC of Team Armotech UK often sets up in a bush or similarly good cover just waiting for the perfect moment. One shot one kill most of the time, with the guy who's been shot wondering where it came from:confused:

i once had an incident where a marshal shot me..
at the time i had an Ion.. i was at some poor, minor, no name, punter site, it was small, the facilitys were dreadfull, but it was cheap!!
i was on holiday in central england..

i had bought a box of paint.. No one there even knew what my Ion was so id guess they were terribly inexperienced..
(i marshall myself, and i did think they were poor..)

id used more paint than i was intending too, so i hung back at the start point to watch the punters fight it out, about 4 mins into the game a marshall shouted something at me, i turned, he was quite far away from me, i did a big shrugging gesture as i didnt have a clue what he was on about..
he just shook his head, i turned back to watch the game,
(The Game the marshall should have been watching)
about 30 seconds later i was struck by 3 paintballs, one inbetween the shoulder blades.. the second on the back of the neck...
the 3rd caught me a glancing blow on the top of my head..
i was not impressed to turn round to see the marshall pointing an inferno at me from a coniderable distance closer than he was previously standing!!(having a marker, O.K. marshals take spare markers on the fields.. why he had a hopper and paint though.. i have no idea!!)
Anyway, The neck shot from such a stupidly close range made me see red as it nearly made me pass out!! Anyway.. after a near fisticuffs engagement.. im thrown off the site..
i was never told what the marshall had shouted at me, what i had done to deserve 3 shots in the back at close range from a marshall!!

I did report the site to trading standards and the local police for such a dangerous way of running things.. To my knolledge there now long closed down..

Fortunately.. Cowboy sites are getting rarer and rarer these days..

Just as an addition to the paintball sniper posts. At the warped Big Game i was walking the road of shame just passed hang mans corner (it will have been black 1 but there was a corner gibbet, hence our name for it) and even though the north had pushed well across the road i was surprised and a little impressed to see 3 guys down in sniper mode (a couple in full ghillie suits) should the south make a push back baring in mind this was probably the most contested section due to the proximity of the entrance posts. And while no-one should have been firing over 280fps, we've all seen the benefit of a Tippman/flatline setup.

PS anyone catch what the gun was set up on a stand that had everything including sights, red dot etc. pretty sure 1 of the above 'snipers' was using this.

Yeah.. Black one was fun...

I Think the marker you are thinking off was a Warsensor WS66...

Saw quite a few people using pimped up 66's and there was a nice one on display at the Armotech stand..

Bipod
20" Barell with RIS kit
flashlight mount incl flashlight
Silencer
Elite sightrail

sniping's cool! You make your bed and you lie in it... (er not sure of the relevence there!)..there's a difference between sniping and camping, isn't there?

I think Marshalls shooting players is bad. No reason for it, if the player's cocking about then they should be told/ thrown in the sin bin etc Why shoot them? Spoils the game surely.

Go Ballistic! had an incident where one guy threatened to sue because two of the managers were stood around with their own guns (unloaded and without gas bottles) he claimed that he got shot by them both from nearly 100 yards away many many times (a rather impossible concept)

He demanded the booking money and paint money back for himself and the 40 people he brought with him.

As a result Go Ballistic! Marshals aren't allowed to even CARRY a gun in front of a customer.

Speaking as an old game manager for warped paintball any marshal who shoots a customer for any reason should most def not be a marshal.and if they did it on one of my fields they would be going home earlier than expected. unfortunately some sites just give anyone a job as marshal without any kind of training .warped holds training days for marshals and if you dont quite make the mark you dont get the job.
