hi all
i have recently purchased a marker which was advertised as semi-auto but it turns out to be full-auto which means I wont be able to use this marker anywhere:( I am kinda confused about what to do know? i was also told to take of the elec/trigger and destroy it or i could end up in court because of it:eek: is this true?

What marker is it ?,and where did you buy it?
Most autos can be modified to semi quite easily .If you bought it from a shop in the UK I suggest you take it back to them and have them modify it , I'm sure they wouldn't want a visit from the local police...if you get my drift

What make is the marker and who sold it to you, shop sale or private.

I do believe that the fully auto is actually a selectable mode on the marker.
The makers of the marker will supply a letter saying that it is legal as far as I am aware.
Some sort of law bending I think, it is not actually a true fully auto more of an electronically enhanced fire mode so somehow flaunts the law!

E Rex's are selective fire, the ones I've seen are anyway .Have you cycled through the fire options via the grip control switches ?

yes it is selective fire, can select semi or full-auto but that makes no difference to the law:( and i still wont be able to use it at any sites cos its full auto capable:( this is turning into a fooking nightmare

i'm sure you will be able to use it. the site should understand that your marker CAN fire full auto, but as long as you keep it set at semi, you'll be fine. if they wanna check it (which they may do) let them, no harm done. They shouldn't stop you playin.
Anyway, most sites are run by people who themselves use markers that can do full auto, but obviously won't use the feature. no-one uses full auto cos u can't use it tourny's, but doesn't stop the manufacturers putting it in to attract customers.

well, thats my understanding of it :)

Does it have a tourney lock or similar? Basically as long as you need tools (allen keys, screwdriver etc) to change the mode, it's tourney legal (and I guess therefore overall UK law legal).

Just because a markers capable of firing full auto doesn't mean your banned from using it,Race Cockers,Timmys and my Xmag can all go full auto and yet they get used on the tourney circuit.
I think someones tried to scare you or they don't know what their talking about:D
