Bit of a social comment this.
Is it really nessessary to do short text like messages on a computer, ok on a phone it saves you time but you don't need abrieviate on a computer as you've got the whole keyboard to play with.
When you're an old fart like me some of this text lingo is hard to read.
And can somebody please tell me what LOL stands for, i can't work it out:confused: :confused:
I agree and the thing that really gets me is the dam phone trying to spell for me :mad: its the governments way of dumbing the kids down just incase the easier exams and closed door everyone wins sports day doesnt work ;)

LOL is an abreviation for laugh's out loud mate and as being a member of the younger generation its still to read most of them damn texts.

IMHO da use of txt speak is needed to keep me msg's dwn to a smll lenf!

I turned my dictionary thing off on my phone it never came up with the word i wanted.
The other day some kid asked me what time it was and as i had amouth full of chips at the time i showed him my watch he asked me if it was right , he didn't understand the face with the hands and was instead reading the date on the LCD bit at the bottom:confused: :confused: :confused:

I know some young ones who can text nearly as fast as I can talk & can use a keybooard at lightspeed.but ask them to write their names or anything with a pen & they stuggle.:o :o :(

ok try this one, what is the most rediculous word you have come up with when you try to put one word in.
i put "jase" in my nokia, it interpreted it to be LARD
try tongy, as in pete tong, it comes up UNMIX
any more ?
