This afternoon a 'script kiddie'[If you don't know what one of these are look it up online] attempted to hack me. He managed to bypass my first firewall [never did trust Nortons anyhow], but faltered at my second one. Unlucky for him that my second one is agressive to potentially fatal attacks and attacks back [no i'm not going to tell you the name of this one]. Well he sent me an email tonight complaining that I crashed his system and he has had to reinstall.
Where the hell do these muppets get off. He tried to attack me then has the gaul to complain to me when he got his fingers burnt. Serves him right for trying to install BO2k on my machine.

Moral of this story is:
If you don't have a firewall up and running get one.
If you do have one make sure its up to the job. Like I say Nortons firewall isn't that good, your better of downlaoding something like zone alarm (www.zonelabs.com) seeing as its free. I only use Nortons as a primary firewall so I can run my nasty one behind it, in the hope that the first one fails and the attacker gets burnt. There are also very nasty firewalls which attack back when attacked but I shan't tell you where to find these as they can land you in all sorts of trouble if you don't know what your doing.

you can tell if your firewall is up to the job here (https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2)

THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUCEMENT BROUGHT TO YOU BY T.L.SYSTEMS.

Even if you do know what you're doing I wouldn't advise such measures. It's just asking them to come back with their 2000 stupid american ADSL owners who *DIDN'T* have a firewall and are now remote controlled by said script kiddie. 2000 ADSL users can flood you an awful lot. And your personal firewall can't stop that.
