ay up...again

continuing with the saga of the 'ancient air system' I've decided to get a new air bottle...but...

is there any need to buy a bottle with a regulator when my marker has an intergral and foregrip regulators?

is there an on/off adaptor for an air bottle on the market that has a male connector/nipple for a fill rig?

cheers

steve

I assume your integral foregrip reg is a constant low pressure regulator designed to take a pressure from your bottle of anywhere between 600 - 800psi and regulate it to the constant pressure the marker needs - what type of marker it is would help.

Whereas an air system without an air regulator would put out up to 4500psi (depending on type and how full it is) so your foregrip reg would not be able to handle it.

So the answer is yes - you would normally need an air regulator in addition to your foregrip one.

You can make one of these up yourself (or get one made) quite easily - where are you in York - you are welcome to come over to see me and I'll show you how.

You just, I believe, need a preset reg costing I think around £50 - £60 which will give an output preesure off around 800psi to your foregrip reg

DW and Silverjay....thanks for the replies

Sj..I've got a L7 'promaged' automag that has it's own intergral regulator, plus an additional foregrip one that came with the air system I bought many moons ago....so I don't really see why the marker needs a third one on the bottle...what do you think?

Thanks for the offer, I'll definately take you up on it if you think all I need is an on/off adapter for an air bottle

I'm at Clifton Moor...staggering distance from the Flying Legends,The Mitre (local..ish),Caravan Club, Bumper Castle, Riverside Farm, The Millfield, and Ikon and Diva if I'm feeling young again...ahhh.. bliss

cheers

Steve,

My business is on Clifton Moor (Kettlestring Lane) but I live 6 miles on the York side of Malton.

I think you will need an air reg - either one as DW mentioned or a cheap 3000psi system would do fine. I had a Level 7 Promag years ago and now shoot an X-Mag (amongst others) so can help out if you have problems.

An on/off with a quick release is always a good idea if there isn't an on/off on your regulator.

Drop me an email if you want to come over and I'll help you set up.

I'm working down the road, and they're only charging me £49/week, compared with £20/night for the local B&Bs!

Did you get the cheque/letter Andy?
