i went paintballing with a few friends not so long ago, it was a walk on day and i had to borrow a lot of equipment and cos it was my first time i had little i dea of what i was doing!
well anyway i had to borrow a gun from my mates, mate, which was a spyder, which wasn't that bad, but on the second or third game the cocking handle flew off, we don't know where it went and then something inside the weapon broke leaking gas! so that gun was over with, but a good sportsmen there let me borrow his tipperman 98 (and what a gun that is, definately gonna get one ;) )
anyway, we got onto this map that was called speed ball and it was an area that was probably about 30m x 30m. there was two rounds and each round lasted 5mins. and it was a slaughter! in the first round i was knocked out in less then 5 seconds cos there was so much firing going on. the second round was much better, i ended up being the last surviving player on my team, i don't know how many there was of the enemy but i've never seen so many paintballs heading towards one person, i was totally pinned down! i managed to get one of the enemy before my hopper ran out and i was knocked out while trying to reload.
another map was just a standard capture the flag from the opposite teams base and take it back to yours, i ended up being the last surviving member again! then someone ran past me carrying our flag and i was like 'who the hell was that' then he turned and started shooting me, then i realised he was the enemy but by then it was too late, i got pumelled again. lol.

i had to miss one match though, because the spyder broke and i couldn't get it repaired. so i don't konw what that map was like. but because of that day, i fell in love with paintballing.

Great story,

It's good to hear of a site doing things right. What was the site called that you went to.

Give them some recognition.

its definately a good place but i don't know what any others are like, but they have had to close down their best map which is called trenches i think, cos a building collapsed cos too many people climbed onto it for cover!

I have heard of the one at Centre Parks. Apparently Centre Parks take a huge percentage.

My first time paintballing was at YPC (wahay !)

If I remember rightly, we were using pump actions.

It was a group of people from work and the first guy I managed to hit was my best mate. I was defending on capture the flag & popped my head above the parapets to seem him bearing down on base. I hit him one in the lid & remembering head shots don't kill, duly shot him twice more - once in the belly & one in the nuts for good luck.

It was then that I realised that paintballing was the sport for me.

(incidentally, it was shortly after then that my mate started wondering if he'd ever father children)

Ahhh, golden memories....
