Hey everyone, I am a total, total newbie. I've only played paintball a couple of times, but I want to get into it, and I'm looking for a decent marker to start me off. Also, do most sites allow you to keep a back up on the field as well as your main marker, e.g. a paintball pistol?
Anyone got any suggestions or any sites that talk about how markers work? I see lots of stuff, but I can't really decipher any of what I'm reading.
Mind you, this is the best site I've come across yet, even better than any of the US ones I've been on.
Thanks!
Hi,
If you are looking at only paying rec-ball for now (eg woodland, going along on normal retail days etc) then your best bet is a low end semi blowback - you can get one new or might be able to find something suitable second hand (see the calssifieds section). I'm sure most sites will allow you to take a pistol etc onto the field as a backup if you want to do that, although if you want to play tournaments then you cannot do this. I would suggest though that it would be better to spend all your money on one decent marker than split your money on two cheaper ones. Of course it's your decision.
If htere are any terms or words that you need explaining, then ask here! Most things you will pick up as you go along though.
Regards,
Tom

Thanks Tom, that clears things up a little bit and gives me some focus at what I'm looking at (which at the moment looks to be the Morpheus B/L) How does a semi blowback differ from... er... guns which aren't semi blowback? Sorry to be a pain in the butt. I really don't know much about the tech specs!
