It might work but you need to have a few people in here at a time to get things moving. Maybe specialist nights with special paintball guests.

I did actually set up a paintball chatroom on MSN a couple of weeks ago. It got up to 15 ppl at one time. 3 Hosts, 2-3 genuine paintballers, 2-3 people really interested in how to get into paintball and the only question we ever get asked - does it hurt?
and everyone else was trying to hack the hosts computers which was a tad annoying so we had to shut down after 2 hours because of all the hacks going on.

msn causes too many problems..its way to easy to get into and find tons of info on peeps....you would be best jus startin own from scratch....but make sure that it one of those ones where when someone writes somethin it goes straight up and its not one of those updates evri 10 seconds one.....they are soooo annoyin.

The one we used last time was not IRC, but a Javascript applet which everyone could get into.

I remember it being a bit more technical than expected. Anyone have any experience of chatrooms and the day to day running of them.

Maybe it would be an idea to have the page password protected so that only registered members could join the chat.

Maybe also a good idea to have set times like Tuesday at 8pm for example.

Thought's and coments would be greatly appreciated.
