Has anyone played at any of the Paintball discounts sites ?
I'm thinking about trying out the Birmingham site, but just wanted to know if anyone has had good/bad experiences ?

I believe about 10 of us are going for a 1/2 day on the first Sunday of next month.
The helpline seems really friendly and helpful.
Give them a ring and ask them if they have "Public Liability" insurance.
If they say yes, get them to fax you a copy, (if you havn't got a fax machine, then tell them to fax it to us 01977 680173) and well tell you if they have or not.
If everythings ok, have a great day.
If they say they don't or make excuses about not being able to fax you a copy etc, then don't touch them with a barge pole.
You owe it to yourself and to the others in your group to choose a reputable company.
Also as a footnote, be very careful of hidden charges. Ask them how many paintballs are included in the entrance fee. Ask if lunch is included, ask if coveralls are included. Are you going to be given a scabby mask which is unusable unless you pay an upgrade fee to get anti fog goggles, and the same goes for the gun.

Cheers for your advise Andy.
I phoned them last night and they advised me that "Yeah, the sites should have them and they will fax me a copy in the morning".
Nothing arrived this morning so I called again and was told that they didn't offer Public Liability insurance and that I would have to sign a waiver. :o/
Also, after a little digging around, it looks like the site was registered to Delta Force paintball who as we know doesn't have Insurance.
Never mind, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Cheers again.
There you go. At first these cheap places appear to be attractive but when you really find out about them......well there you go.
No PL insurance, you should phone them and ask them what would happen if an injury occured which was down to their neglegence.
Would you let your kids, friends, collegues play at a site like that.
Point them at this thread so they can justify themselves.
Maybe we should put up a thread.
Dodgy sites with no insurance so they can be named and shamed.

i gotta say the name and shame idea should be launched. i'm trying to play at as many sites as possible, and having a list of companies to avoid would be a great help.

I found the equipment at Delta Force utter crap (tho it is winter) the gun only worked for one of the ten minute games and the masks fog up like buggery but the people running the place there are really nice. if they could just get better equipment it would be quite a good place.
Quick point which isn't aimed at any sites, but decent anti-fog (thermal) lenses seem to scratch a hell of a lot easier than std lenses.
If sites offered these to everyone, they'd need to change lenses every few weeks - this would push costs up and people would complain...
After playing my first game of paintball with site goggles, I went out and bought my own!
