Can anybody remember what sort of air Soda Streams use, Co2 or Air ??? or something else...

If its Co2 is it possible and sensible to attach a supply of it to my marker, would this be any good ?

I think they are CO2 as thats whats normally used to carbonate drinks. It must also be liquid as it lasted quite a while in the machine. However, as for adapting a soda stream bottle to use on a paintball marker - thats basically what the airsource bottles Fat Bobs sell are - a disposable liquid CO2 tank. They're noly £4 or something - you would be better off (and safer!) with them.
