First played at Warpaint near Wetherby. PGP pistols, £1 for a 12g which lasted 20 shots and £1.50 for a tube of 10 paintballs.

Great Fun!!

First tournament was Survival Game Congleton 1990 with the YPC Barbarians. Can't remember where we were placed.

Remember some of the teams though

First played at Paintball swindon back 89, loved the day, have always remembered the safety and gun speech, didn't get one!
wearing the same goggles that we used to use in chemistry class.
paint was 10p per ball and 50p for a 12gm. highlight of the day was hunting down the last marshal in the marshal's game. even though he had a "machine gun".

first tourney was at SAS maidenhead came third of 22, paint was quite cheap per ball site paint only. we were using site razorbacks. and had a whale of a day.

First time was at a site in Ollerton near Manchester, july 99 my brother organised it got a load of gym members from where he worked to go. I think we used maverick pumps???? brown boiler siut were the clothes of choice , unless you went to waddington airshow the week before and bought some cammo trow and a jacket for eight quid Bargain:p the field i remember most is one with a van in the middle and one team starts in the back with the other team position not far away especially when your caning their asses and they are moaning He He, anyway i got hit in the head from close range and it hurt ...a lot left a nice ring and made me want to go again:D
Oh we won as well not only the other team but we got the highest score of the day we got a certificate which is still on my wall (its the only thing i have won) and a trophy for the gym but i nicked that and its on my shelf:eek: :D

Were a bit like creepy crawlies who scutter away when you lift the rock they have been hiding under.

Mine was a site near plymouth in febraury 1990 with some stupid stockglass thingy a sheriden If i remember rightly. The things I remember was that paint was bloody expensive [£1 for 10 balls] and it f-ing hurt. the rule was head shots don't count if you could get up after getting hit by a ball on the bonce you were a hero. oh and the site had an old open excevation tin mine which had some cool hills and depresions in the ground . You lobbed a smoker into a dip and it would fill it up and stay in there for bloody ages. Thats another thing is it just me or were smoke grenades better back then as well?

YPC in 1998. Won some free tickets at a motor show(?)
played with spurious pumps & got shot twice in t' knackers.
This has now become a tradition. Rob go play paintball. Rob get shot in knackers. Every time for five bloody years ! frankly I think my scrotum has developed its own hard shell now.

Late 80's Atac-tics was the site near Harrogate with a complete bunch of lunatics called the R.O.M.C. (Royal Oak Marine Corp)

So many memorys, definately the one that showed the most commitment to the team was when Nam-Nige decided to storm the enemy base by swimming the swamp and using a reed to breathe through.

The Mad thing was he returned complete with flag (and looking like swamp thing if any of you remember him)......

Damn that water was black

paint £1.50 a tube
gas £1.00

The first time i played was waaaaay back in 88, the field was run by a team called The Doomsday Runners (does anyone remember them?). Sticks of paint were a quid each (10 Shots) you could get three sticks in your feeder tube with the last stick acting as a plug so the rest didn't fall out. Gas was little soda bottle capsules at 50 pence each. The funniest day i remember was sticking a bunch of advertising reps who thought it would be cool to camo paint their faces so as to look the part. By the end of the day they were all covered in spots brought on by the A. Hot weather and B. The camo paint on their lovely soft reppy skin.
Oh by the way, we kicked their asses too

first paintball experience was with the college. about 100 of us went to solihul paintball (farm basicly) and what i remember most was my mate shooting himself in the foot by accident who later was limping for about 20 mins and the fact that my mask steamed up towards the end game to which i wondered infront of 5 opponents who opened fire like mad rambo's

first time was in Etchingham, sussex. Think it was a skirmish or a survival site. Can't be sure these days, was back in 1987/88.
Weapons were bolt action Co2 jobbies. Fire one off, cock - make sure ball rolls into breach, fire, etc etc. The 'hopper' was a tube on the side that held 6- 10 balls !!
good old days and boy did i love it.
Totally staggered at the lovely kit around nowadays now i've come back into it !!

The first time I went painballing i was wearing this big pair of Para boots, and as you do when you have no brain, I looked down to the toe of these big Para boots and thought, I wonder if it would hurt if i shot myself in the foot? Well hell yes it did, I squealed like a pig. aaah happy days...:)

my first proper experiance wasnt that long ago in culla park in wales.... i was using the demonstration marker ... the infamus #42... it was turned up to about 320.. when all the others were at 250... there was a new marshal there and they made him play with us so he could get used to the game cos hed never played... i shot him in the nuts in one match and in the neck the next match.. neck swole up like a golf ball and he couldnt breath... i didnt know the marker was turned up untill afterwards.. :|

The first time i went, i had no idea what it was gonna be like, so i got kitted out in some clown size boiler suit and smelly mask and we made our merry way to the 'battlezones'.
It was the 4th game and it was A&D, and our turn to defend the sattelite.
Before the game started i had to sort the hopper out which kept coming loose, and by the time it was sorted, everyone had found their places to hide in, but the only place left was some scrawny little 'bunker' which consisted of 2 pallettes leaned together, in the corner of the front line and the line we were to get flanked from. So the game started and i was sitting and waiting, and peered round every now and then, and i looked round again and suddenly they attacked, with me as the first casualty, i took 3 or 4 shots to just above the temple, which hurt more than anything, so i kind of screamed expletives and rolled about and staggered off the the wash off point. My head hurt for about a week after that!
But the rest of the day was cool and im now totally hooked on it, and im taking my own camo and buyin my own gun and kit so i dont have to worry about bloody hoppers coming off or drowning in a clown suit.:)

The first time i ever went paintballing was at basets pole in 2000, it was a school trip! During the safty talk i remeber the marshall picking on me by showing everyone not how to wear the snood and the googles (i had snood under gogs):)

Anyway i rember walking down to the first game with a few of my close m8's who were on my team, at which point we came up to one of the other teams who were waiting to get on and play, But who was that???.......Oh it was little joey hunter so i decided to slyly shoot him in the foot:D he screamed out and the marshell got involved, "what happend"....er nothing i sed!:p the marshell went ape  and sed if i ever do anything like that again he would personally deal with me (i could feel my kegs filling up!).

During the first game me and 3 other of my m8's jumped behind the closes bunker and decied that we would stay there! Becasue we were to damm scared to lift our head over the bunker we resorted to puting our markers over our heads and randomly shooting.

The worst thing that happend to me that day was the TRENCHES:eek: while getting told by on of the marchells that if i didn't move up i would be eliminatied i decided to make a RUN for it when i got shot in the head (for the first time so i was dazed) and then in the God damm shoulder blade, i hit the floor in a fit of pain, i honistly thought that my shoulder was broken.

But one thing happend to me on that day, i became severly addicted and i eagerly await the next time we go, september the 6th!:D

My first one was at some place in Leighton Buzzard called The Great Adventure Game, about 4-5 months ago. We were using old well-used Tippmans, and the scott hotshot masks (I think). No smokes or any secondary weapons like that. Out of about 30 people there, I only knew about two...

I made my presence felt nicely planted shots throughout the day. Until at one point in an assault/defence game (we were the assualt team, switching after just having been the defence, I got frustrated as we were making no progress and I had been tagged about 3 times, (which was a lot for me. I try to stay alive more than to take other people out). And I ran straight into the eye of the storm as it were, taking out a miserable one person, I mean, I had the opportunity to take out 6, (well 3 out of 6) But I managed one, before I got painted to pieces from no more than 12 ft away I got blasted by like 6 people who all turned their attention to me after realising I had just tried to do a special move. It hurt. A lot especially when some nipple-head got me on the thumb. I mean... WHY!? Luckliy though twas not in vain and as the other team danced about over their victory, two of our team ran in and it was all a bit resevoir dogs. Oh, yeah and everyone 'died'. So, yeah, that was worth it.

But the best part for me, was when I ran out of paint in the end game and chased some guy for ages, gunning with reckless abadon faking him out big time. I thought this was clever at the time as I hadn't heard of it being done before. Anyhow, what wasn't cool was when I got another batch of paintballs and they were really inaccurate which I couldn't understand. I learned a few weeks ago that it would be the settled paint. What a cool day that was. I got hooked, and can't wait for the next one a week today.

It will be sexual.

Hey all - let me take you back to 1987 or so....

Weekend Warriors down South somewhere (I've moved up North now) Same old routine, splatmasters, paint £1 per tube (£1.50? not sure) and maybe 50p powerlet etc etc....

Me and the guys I went with were pretty much all first timers, and kinda got shot to shreds by some bunch of blokes who played there regularly. Now, if there's one thing I can't stand, it's being outgunned ('cos naturally I was playing great, just outgunned right?;) ) so I tried to make sure that I could make up my skill deficit with firepower by going and getting the latest tourney marker with all the bits etc. So - next time I went to that site to sort out some proverbial old scores, our bleedin' opponents weren't there!

Bum.

Hey ho, now you know!

BTW - did anyone else play in the Big Games at Marsworth Air Base? Gunpoint Leisure ran them - I did 2 years worth and loved every second of it. Would have been about 1989/1990 I guess. I still have the VHS fer chrissakes! :p

I could probably dub the whole thing onto CD Rom, if I thought anyone would be interested in seeing it.

That was my introduction to Bad Company - I've still got my old engraved Bushmaster too! Am I dating myself here? I wonder if anyone would be interested in that old gun...? I think I have a Mayhem Masters 1990 T Shirt around somewhere as well.

Watch out for me in the funny papers, or failing that on the 'Kit for Sale' page.

The first time I played wasn't that long ago... about 3months.
It was at Southwest paintball in Penzance.

Hmm... the thing I remember most:rolleyes:

Ahhh.... capture the flag, but the flag was in the middle and you had to take it to your oponents base.
I was roughly about 20ft from the flag and there was no sound of firing, I foolishly thought that this was a good sign:D
I legged it up to the flag, reached up to untie it and got a shot on my firing knuckle... I ran off (without the flag) and I recieved about 10 shots in my a$$!
Had a lovely dead leg for 10 mins:(

oh well our team won!

Campaign Cup 2002. lol no, only kidding!! my first time was about 4 months before that, yup thats all! From my first day at paintball what i remember most was the incredible sense of freedom it gave me. At that time i was doing a 9 to 5 job in London wearing silly girly shoes and skirts that fit the job but not the personality! So a year ago i quit my 9 to 5 and now work for a paintball games company. I wear cleats and Dye pants to work and enjoy every minute of what i do! BEWARE newbies... Paintball is all consuming... all powerful... you may never be the same again!! I'm not! rofl!!

My first game was in 2000 at a local site 'Unique Persuits, Bridgestock. I was brought along in a five man group by my mate Jay. I only remember my first shot in that game. Wack! An inch away from my man hood. Scared the hell out of me, but it didn't hurt as much as people say.

We returned to that site pretty often just to recball. My moment of fame was at the end of a day. About 15 a side, and the points for the day were tied. 5 people were picked from each team ( my five being me and my mates). last man standing takes the days victory. go!.. In mission mode I drop to the floor (tipman quiet) and I crawled round the short field un-noticed by the fighting opposition until I was right behind them with a good line on all players. Up I pop. bang bang bang bang bang... All five down. We win with all our team standing.

From there we went all over england, recballing at various Chaos, Skirmish, Rebel, Unique Persuits and Delta Force sites.

As of 2002 we got into the big game scene playing Kennies Revenge, Staar waars and Drug wars, this year the Warriors and whatever the Kennies crew come up with.

This year we begin to look at the tournament side. Should be fun. Unfortunately our 5 man Team has dropped to 3 (due to cash problems) but we got a deal to join up with another team for this year, so things are looking up.

Hey look... There's my biography... sorry about that. I got carried away

Hey

My First time was about 3 years ago and I think it was a place called campaign Paintball.

A bunch of us from work all had been talking about it and then we decided to do it!

So were all there and the old power juice is pumping. We get our kit with our Tippman 98's. First game of the day, Capture the flag, no team tactics just go for broke!

3......2.....1.....PAINTBALL....and we’re all running in all directions! One of my mates is following me, god knows why my mask was so steamed up I started growing tomatoes!. Anyways got about half way when I tripped a"se over elbow on a branch and landed on my arm. The same arm that I was holding my marker! Then the mate who was following me picked me up by my battle pack and we all carried on!

So I get shot and off I walk to the dead zone and the game ends. Get back to the safe zone and I take off my gear and take a look at the damage done because me arm flipping well hurting!

Took a look and my right arm was about twice the size of my left! Needless to say that I played on the rest of the day with a gammy arm and sight out of one eye!

Couple of days later and my arm is yellow from my elbow to my shoulder!. Needless to say that I bought a thermal mask instantly!

The second and 3rd time have been much better. I have now decided to join the UKPSF (wanna support the cause!) and get me own basic marker! One day I hope to learn about tournament play!

Well that's about it

Ta for reading! :)

First game was at point blank in croft. last yr, went with a few of me m8's and learned for the first couple of games we would be playing against 2 marshals (i didn't know what marshals were back then but learnt that they were good :p )

got setup with standard site markers and clothing which was really warm being the middle of summer so borrowed an army top from a m8, and prepared to go out on the field when i saw the marshals walk in with smart looking markers (dunno the make or brand), proteus masks (cameleon models) and one in a yellow jt top and the other in blue, all ready to do battle ::gulp::

the games began and i was a bit confused to what to do, i knew i just shoot people and stuff and we had been given a breifing before we started but i wasn't used to the mask and didn't know which way to go or anything, so we started off and i got shot almost instantly which hurt like hell but i quite enjoyed it.

second match came and i shot one guy in the arm and was happy to see him walking off the field with his head hung low and his arm in the air. i then got shot from behind by one of the marshals (damn those guys were sneaky) we went for a break before getting back to the games.

the next arena was speed ball which was really fun, there were big tyre walls on either side and you had to grab the flag in the middle and get it into your opponents side. i decided to camp out behind the tyres untill the time was almost out, shot 2 people the through the tyre walls, one in the chest and the other in the leg (well he did have it sticking out in front of the wall for some reason) time got down to thirty seconds and i could see the marshals moving up, the took out 3 of our guys and the was only about 5 of us left, time got to 10 seconds and i decided to run for it, i saw my m8 doing the same thing on the other team and i had to beat him too it, i kept running down whilst blasting the balls into my m8's chest, he must have taken about 5 shots in the midsection when he finnaly dropped, i grabed the flag in the center and dived through the air, i felt loads of shot striking me but couldn't do anything to stop it, i was airbourne with the flag in hand, i drop onto the floor and rolled into the tyres ending up upside down with my legs over my head, the pain was unbearable but it was decided i got the flag at least a metre over the oppositions side before i got shot so i won the match :D

third game was just as fun, it was plant the bomb, the bomb was on the opporsitions side so we had to collect it first, this was hard, one of the marshals joined our team for this round as we had only where 2 men down, we started off and i followed one of the marshals behind a burnt out van, the marsheld told me to head up down the center into the bushes and wait there for him to signal to me, i waited there for a couple of mins and still no one came, i saw the marshal move out and he signalled me to follow, so i did, we saw a few members from both teams walking off after being shot, the marshal took 2 guys out then told me to follow once again, he guided me to where th bomb was, i crept up to the area and saw 2 guys, 1 behind a tree and the other behind a bush about 6 feet away, they were both layed down in the oposite direction to me, i shot them both in the back (one in the back of the head and in the back which was really funny) i then grabbed the bomb and ran with it, in all the exitement i didn't know where the hell to put it, the marshal who had been guiding me waved, i went started to get close to him and saw paintballs whizzing past my arm, i dived to the ground and turned over, it was the other marshal, i knew he was gonna fire but only he didn't shoot at me he shot the other marshal out, i opened fire on him and caught him a couple of times in the arm, the other marshal (the one on my team) directed me where to place the bomb, i placed it and we won that match.

after another game in which i got a guy to surrender then got shot in the back by the disgruntled marshal we went and got a bite to eat.

after feasting we were back on the feild, this time it was bunkers, there we all were down in the bunkers wondering where the other guys were the marshals had stepped out for this match and left us to it, i decided to take a peek over the ridge of the bunker (silly idea) i got shot in the head about 4 times and couldnt see a thing, the paint was pouring through my visor and i could taste it in my mouth (yucky) i used my arm to wipe most of the paint off but it smudged badly and i could barely see anything in front of me, i heard my team m8's shouting from somewhere, i ran through the bunker to where they where and spotted a guy behind a tree just above them, i shot him in the leg and saw one of my balls bounce off the top of his head, i crouched down with me team m8's and we decided what to do. a couple of guys jumped up the bunker and started legging it to the other side, jumping the bunkers on the way, i could here shots firing at them i poked my head from the top of the bunker and started crawling my way out towards them, i then saw something i wished i hadn't saw, my m8 barry was staring dirctly at me through the bushes and i saw paintballs flying my way, i got hit about 3 times in the shoulders once of the ear and the top of my head took one hell of a beating. my mates grabbed me and dragged me back into the bunker before another shot could hit. i stood up and walked towards the safety zone, i turned round to see 3 members of the other team pounce on our guys from behind i was gutted, all that pain for nothing.

the next couple of rounds were just as bad, we just kept getting killed, we were worn out. eventually after playing our last match and winning we were told we could use the rest of our balls up in a one for all, we were all told to scatter and had five mins to shoot out, after shooting a m8 out the whistle went (thank god for hiding in the bush) i was left with about 20 balls left in my hopper, the marshals who we had been playing with said anyone who has any balls left we are going to do a search and setroy, we had to take out both marshals ::gulp:: we wandered around half of the area looking for them, not one of us got shot out, we saw the marshal hiding out behind a couple of steal barrels, all of us ran in, the other marshal had said to us (only as a joke) that if the put there arms up it means keep shooting (a couple of people took it litterally) i shot him about 3 times before his arm went up and i saw a couple of peeps wernt stopping, i decided to open fire on them instead, the marshal staggered off (he was hurting badly) we all decided to open fire on each other, we couldn't be bothered trying to find the other marshal we were having fun shooting each other. the end of the match was called and we all went back to camp.

the reults came through, a m8 of mine called nev won an award for being the best newcomer after doing a terminator style killing spree in the 8th round. the guy who got the best player award didn't deserve it as he only got it because it was his stag party and i walked away with nothing. i was told i won most of the matches for the team but i got nothing for it :(

we started to take our kit off and get changed back into normal clothing, a couple of us saw the marshal who got shot to bits, he about 15 welts down his back all bright red and a few of them bleeding it looked really bad.

we sat down before m8's dad came to pick us up and talked about how great the day had been till he arrived

it was my first ever paintball game and i loved every second of it.

Thanks to pointblank for making my day :)

Delta force near solihull.

First time I had ever been, I was really pumped for it. We bought a crate of paint between 4 of us - 120 odd quid complete rip off. On top of that it was really crap. Say you would drop it from 2 or 3 inches and it would break.

well you can imagine that paint in hoppers and pots as you go running round woods. yep, my pots were full of mushy goo, and the hopper wasnt much better. I spent most of my time having my barrel cleaned out by the marshalls because the paint broke so many times. And the times when you could fire, the accuracy was so unbelievably rubbish that it was impossible to hit anyone. Some guy was lying on the floor about 5 metres from me and i couldnt hit him at all. the balls went straight for about a metre then span off in random directions.

delta force sucked big time :o

next paintball day was at NPF though. that was really cool - and i had bought my own marker by then, even though my experience of delta force was so bad. NPF is the best :D

First time was back in the days, well, July 2001 at "NPG Plymouth", now owned by Delta Force ()

The bit that stuck in my mind the most had to be in one of the first games "get the large paint drum bomb into the opponents base" only there were handles on each side, so 2 ppl had to carry it.

So near the end of the game one of my mates and myself decide to go for it - run for it, pick it up and leggit. Unforunately we were too preoccupied with making sure we didn't get shot, as to not notice the tree we were about to run into, so being real quick thinking and all, I let go of the handle, run round one side of the tree, and grab back hold of the bomb as the other guy came round from the other side.

What was more impressive, was when we went back a year later, they were still talking about it during the "mission" briefing!

think my first time was at skirmish in north yorkshire (i think thats where it is.. i just got taken in car so i dunno :p) was a great day out, a group from the pub went, i think i was only like 14/15 at the time but i loved it.

what i remember the most was shooting my step-dad in the throat and watching him flop to the floor.. i thought id ****ed it, but luckily he kind of over-exagerated and all he got was a bruise :D

My first time was so long ago I can't remember the year...... sometime around 1990 I think. It was at the Survival Game in Congleton, using Splatmasters, 12grams and tubes of 10 which usually included at least 1 with a cracked shell. Was starting to get a bit fed up by the end of the afternoon, as I'd been shot out of every game without fail, usually pretty early on. Then in the penultimate game the red mist descended and I somehow hung the flag, well that was that, I was hooked :D And I still have a Splatmaster, dunno why, I just can't bear to part with it....

Kept playing for a year or 2 as a recballer, then after playing a few walk on days at Fantasy Fields in Stone, Staffs, Dave Clarke asked a couple of mates and myself if we'd like to join his team, Roadrunners. Of course we jumped at the chance and although we only played one tournament we didn't do too badly, we only got really badly massacred in the last game. I can't quite remember what happened to stop me playing, probably coincides with passing my motorcycle test and spending all my spare cash on fast noisy smelly bikes  The rising popularity of semi-autos may have played a part as well, a few of us thought they replaced a lot of the skill of the game with bulk paint-slinging.

Anyways, glad to be back into it!

first time for me was in october 1991 at a site called hadrians camp just outside of hexham in northumberland. think it was about £20 entry and £1.00 for a tube of paintballs and 50p for a 12gram,not badly priced for its day. we used python pumps with 12gram twist changers and 50 shot ammo box hoppers, uvex goggles and green faceplates, standard site gear for the early nineties.......... arr those where the day's
The site itself was very good with plenty of diversity between fields, with friendly staff as well to help you out during the day,
all in all it was a cracking day,and i've probably never had a better day's balling since then just for a pure addrenalin rush.i'll probably never forget it .

Started playing about five years ago with my best bud simon kemp. We went to the ypc with a group from work and played paintball every month since then. Started playing torneys for Fatbobs Leeds last year ( thanks again phil ) and the rest is history. My earliest memory is being shot in the arse by simon and then taking one in the head ( no need to take the Pi** series team ).

YPC circa 1990 with works trip - uvexwoodstalk mask!

Always remember the final game - it was a "last man standing" on the old speedball field. Having deviously dispatched a few of the others (backshooting them was a favourite ploy) it got down to 4 of us left.

I'd hidden behind some L shaped sandbags waiting for another likely victim to come into range of my trusty splatmaster...assuming I could see anyone though my rapidly fogging uvex's....

Next thing I know there's a tap on my back - turned round to find myself looking straight into the business end of a splat with a another punter attached to it screaming "surrender"!

Cursing meself for letting someone sneak up on me (and figuring i've got nothing to lose at this point) I unloaded my splat into his chest (this may have been accompanied by the words "P*ss Off" or similar)

"But He Surrendered" wailed the punter as he headed dejectedly off field "Oh no he didn't" replied one of the marshals who happened to have seen the whole incident.

Priceless!

Mind you someone else then proceeded to lodge a paintball in my left earhole a couple of minutes later - I decided to "retire hurt" as they say!

Lessons learnt:
- never let anyone get behind you
- If it's all gone to sh*t - try something - it may work
- never give a sucker an even break
- buy some thermal JT's & ear protectors

- Now to lose 3 stone, buy a Wrath (seeing as though it looks like there's going to be a lack of spares for me old promag), an air system, replace the rest if the kit that doesn't work after 10 years neglect then get back into it.......

The Challenge in Reddish Stockport. 1992. "Fright night". About 4/5 games of CTF then the Aliens came in (about 6 of them if i remember right) The biggest of them all was Horn Head. Does anyone remember him? They were armed with the lastest pump guns Merlins etc, (crap nowadays) and we all had 10 shot splatmasters (Classic stuff) That was when paintball was paintball. Fire one shot then run like hell whilst trying to cock your gun!!!!!!!:) . What happened to that place? does anyone know? If i remember right it was the biggest paintball arena in Europe?????? Where did it all go wrong?

the first time i ever played paintball was way back in 1993 at the national paintball feild's birmingham. i was taken there for my birthday by a guy called rick sinclair who had all his own equipment and his mate jaffa, at lunch time jaffa had to go somewhere and rick talked him into lending me his newly annondised 68 automag. my afternoon with that marker was absolutly fantastic, i lost count of the people i shot out and managed to grab the flag in three of the four remaining game's.
at the end of the day i was awarded the infamous topgun award for player of the day.
