currently running on co2 at the mo, but too inconsistent, wanna invest in an air set up, but what bottle size, pressure etc do i opt for? any help would be great.
Joker,
What position do you play on the field? What marker do you use? How much paint do you tend to use per game? Are you playing rec-ball or tournaments? What pressure can you fill to (The few sites that do have air tend to use 3000psi BOC bulk fill bottles, whereas HPAC at tournies fill to 4500psi)? How do you rate performance vs looks?

only played one tournament so far, but plans to play more, due to my height mainly play back, use a custom spyder with e-grip, again looking to go to an impuse in the not too distant future, go through 150-300 per game, so i don't chuck paint everywhere and performance over looks everytime. (unless we're talking women!!):D :D :D
Ok,
Well I would suggest you get a small bottle (0.8L or 1.1L) unless you plan to start shooting more paint - I started shooting a hopper and a pot at tourneys - I now have a 9 pot pack and go through an average of 5 pots per game when playing back - so if you think you might start shooting more, then you might want to get a bigger bottle - I've got a 1.5L and it's really not that big. I very strongly recommend buying a brand new bottle not trying to get a cheapo second hand one, even though they are quite expensive, once you have it, thats it, except for £20 every 3 years to get it tested. Fat Bob's sells the new CE bottles and thats what you want to get - you are not meant to be able to buy new HSE bottles anymore although some sites are still selling them I think. I think virtually all bottles sold these days are 4500psi, which is a good thing, I wouldn't bother with 3000psi unless you are ultra strapped for cash.
As for the regulator, if you are plying toruneys, you want to get a 4500psi reg to go with the bottle, again unless you are strapped for cash when you could probably get a cheap second hand 3000psi reg. Basically, depending on how much you want to spend depends on what you get. Also, if you have a decent inline reg on your marker, then you don't need an ultra consistant air reg. If you are into spending the big wodge, a new Max flow (Smart parts boo hiss) or one of the new Armageddon regs which I've heard good things about. If you are more budget, Fat Bobs has 4500psi fixed output screw in air regs - I've got one myself that I have as a spare - they're cheap and can basically be screwed into any marker in the same way you screw a CO2 bottle in.
Let us know your budget and more help can be given! Also, check a few websites to get a rough idea of air system prices.
