Hi all,

Well now I know there are teams out there, what would be the best way to getting experience to join a team? I have a woodsball marker arriving this week (inferno) and so it shows I'm only a newbie. I realise that it takes alot of skill and time to get into (find) a team, any advice from more experienced players would be appriciated :D ,

Thanks,
Tris
(p.s Im from milton keynes, east anglia if that helps at all :s)

get yourself down to genisis, you get put in teams if your not already in one might be a bit far from you to ypc but its worth it

Chris is right get your self to some walkons, but it dosnet have to be Genisis if thats to far from you chances are there is site close to you that does walkons.

Get some games under your belt with some own gunners and see what you think.

Some thing else to think about it the kinda paintball you want to play, are you looking to get in tourny or are you more of a tree hugger and like your camos and mud :D

Probably the camo and mud for me :D

The tourny ball looks too fast a pace for me and from some of the videos I've seen its very much static (hard to move from cover to cover).

Also I do have some local sites that do walk-on days which is pretty handy, but as you say I think I should get some games under my belt first, I may be jumping the gun, but I was interested in this particular area for the future.

Thanks again all,
Tris

A baller after my own heart I love playing in the woods and haveing the space to play tactially on a bigger scale (that's not to say tourny isn't tactical ;) ) It sounds like you are on the right track once you get to some walkons and talk to some similarly minded people you can see what suits you best.

If you find you are enjoying the woods based walkons the you could try making the trip to one of the big UKScenario games. You have never experience anything like playing in a 7 hour game, in 60 acres of woodland, with 700 or so players (look for treads on the North v South game just past) in my signature there is a link to some videos of our team 'The SPC' playing at these kinda games :D

Welcome to paintball I hope you love it as much as we all do :D

Yea, heard and seen some vids of scenario and looks awsome, seen some tanks in the american ones too hehe.

I'll build up some experience and get to know some people and hopefully grab a team there, would like to try tourny ball cause its fast paced and I would guess a nice change now and again.

Thanks all again and hope I will enjoy it like you guys too,
Tris

Im not sure tournament paintball can be an occasionl change for you. Unless you only participate in sup air walk ons. Most teams will want a certain level of commitment. Also sup air will indeed suck you in and drain you of all your money.

Woodsball however can be a bit more casual, just attending walkons etc, but by all means try it, im just letting you in on the harsh reality of sup air:D
