Happier, now all I gotta do is persuade Warped to hold 2K4 there,as it'll cope with a 1000 easily.
Yes Jamie i played Marsworth back in 89 or 90, what a massive place it was, it could be used for a Big game but its urban and it would be lot harder got keep the game flowing in a Scenario based game. if i remmeber Righty it was just base around the two main teams fighting for control ,plus the way we run K2 Big games with players in platoons, i think the infaststructure of the game would break down quite qiuckly sending everyone in to chaos, any scenario game nowadays you need a infastructure
to keep the game running well and to keep the players playing together such a platoon leaders with their squads to company commanders with their 50 players to the top brass generals with 400 players under them, and believe me it'a it takes a lot to get it right just in the woods, without the buildings of Marsworth ( and there are a few if you know what i mean ) plus with the large layout of the site , i think thing could get a little messy.
It worked in the late 80s and early 90s when Malcom the old rogue use to run them, they where without a doubt great fun to play , but realy it was two big teams just shooting paint at each other with no real scenario theme or any real theatre or operations for the game within it'self . now iam not knocking Malcom or anyone at Rogue Warrior Paint ball, they did a fine job way back then ,but todays player wants a little bit more to do in their big game they want to be part of the game and do their little bit for the cause, just look at the Alltarts at 2k3 they knocked the crap out of the south,i was doing the scoring for the North base they kept coming back to Blakey and saying what next mate ? ,where do you want us to go now ( now do you see what i mean ) or just look at Jon Bonich (South General) the way ralleys his troops up and makes them all look up to him as their General in their fight against the North. at the moment where else would this happen!!! Kenny ? ,yes i think so.
Please hit me back, and tell me what you think
Thanks

Your spot on about the lack of scenario at Marsworth,it was basically one team V the other ,although there were points items on the field as well.
The 1st ever Marsworth big game had to be stopped about 30 mins in because ,as you say,the site layout caused a few problems,in this case one sides re-entry point was through a brick and concrete air raid bunker ,so you kept getting a 200 player bottle neck...very unsafe in such a building![]()
I'd still love to play at a site like Marsworth again as playing in such odd, built up surroundings made it a very rewarding game.At the time of Marsworth paintball lived in the woods and nobody was used to playing anything else, but when faced with a site full of buildings, army surplus gear ,bunkers and open spaces with NO TREE'S players were a bit puzzled to start with but soon got the hang of it.
Britain could do with a good sized urban site, there are quite a few in the `states, and we've had one or two here as well,Darneth Park Hospital and Hotshots at Greenham Common were two that spring to mind.
Does anybody know of a suitable outdoor venue up for grabs ?
I remember you mentioned sheffield airport in another thread now that place would be ideal i mean i`m only 20 mins awayif you want to go play marsworth i`m up for it
me and the boys have been wanting to play an urban game for like...ever. are there any pics?
