Question Regulator problem on Smart Parts SP-1

Hi guys (and girls), I figured this is a good place too ask this.

    Here's the story:
I'm fairly new to paintball (even tough I have played with rental-equipment multiple times), and just bought my first marker. The place where I played told me to adjust the pressure (compressed air btw.) according to their standards, and the way to do this was to adjust it all the way down, and then up and messure the speed of the reballs or something.

The problem is that I tightened the adjustment screw too hard, and probably broke something inside the regulator *it does not work anymore. I tried to open the regulator to see if I could fix anything, but I didnt have the tools to open it all the way. :/

Is it possible to fix this?

    To sum it up:
    1. I tightened the airpressure adjustment screw in the regulator and broke something, so it does not work anymore.
    2. Is it possible to fix this in an easy way?
    3. Is it possible to just buy a new (and assembled) regulator a place? All I could find was the smallest part of the thing.

Greets from Norway, and thanks in advance for the help!

I bought this in the US, so its sort of hard to send it to the shop, so Im taking you up on the offer to help.

I would really appreciate a step by step guide, including what sort of tools I need.

I would also suggest posting the solution in this thread for later use.

(also sending this on pm to you)

Right lets have a quick jingle through this.

Firstly just a quick check to see which way you turned it?

Is the screw turning still or is it stuck? if its still turning with no visible movement of depth change (ie going in or out) then it seems as if the screw is has broken across the centre of the adjustment piece where it is at its thinnest.

In short can you move the screw and we'll go from there

    Thank you for replying!

Ive been really busy with work and school atm, so I havent had time, but Im pretty sure the screw is intact. I will check it out asap and report back here.

Again, thank you! And if you (or anyone else) know where to buy the whole regulator part for the SP-1, please tell me.

you could buy an entire new reg, it wouldnt be that hard to find one. it might not be milsim but atleast it would be working and it might be even more efficient but i would avoid this if you can salvage yours
I'd hit it like the fist of an angry God!

A whole new reg should fit as if memory serves me right the SP1 has a metal reg under a cover so the whole thing could be replaced. If you wanted the standard one then contact SP or a SP dealer and see what they can do.

Normally regs are pretty robust, will the screw come out. As for tools for the job, allen keys, needle nose pliers and ideally an o ring pick should be good for the job.

I chickened out, and ended up buying a new regulator from smartpartsparts.com, really not that expensive.
