    13.1 miles and one idiot

This weekend I have two trauma's coming along. The first is the fact that I have to miss the UK Masters "Shoot the Rainbow" tournament, the final event of the UK Tournament calendar, so I have to miss out on shooting the Nexus lads.

The second trauma is that I am missing Shoot the Rainbow because I'm running the Great North Run in aid of "Children with Cancer UK". This is a half marathon. The last 4 months have seen this 43 year old lazy paintballer (Who was seriously considering buying a Segway to get to my car), go from wheezing after running 1/2 a mile to currently wheezing after 10 miles. I am hopeing the extra 3.1 miles are all down hill!!!!

So far we've raised well over 1000 for the charity from the Chocolate Factory Charity Auction, the Staargate T Shirts and from donations from.....
    Thomas Savill
    Hazel Savill
    Chocolate Phil Waite
    Niall Carroll
    Tony Lamb
    Cheryl Pattison and Craig Pattison
    William Dunk
    Simon Cole
    Duncan Thedecorator Martin
    BZ Paintball
    Tippmann

I should be crossing the start line at around 11am and my aim is to finish sometime before midnight. (Hopefully in trainers and not in the back of an ambulance).
If anyone has a spare 1 and would like to support a great cause (Not the idiot who's been coerced into this madness), i've set up a just giving page at:

    https://www.justgiving.com/andy-sables

Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance..
    Andy

Massive thank you to everyone who donated, we've raised well over 1000, will tot it all up and publish a total.
Much much harder than I thought, all my training was done on the flat, Great North Run was about 50% uphill. Painfull knees, chafed nipples but I managed to finish in a slow but steady time of 2hrs 48mins.
I have say a big thanks to Karen, who got me off the sofa in the last 4 months to run, if it hadn't been for Karen I wouldn't have done any training whatsoever. She stayed with me for the first 10 miles, got frustrated and then zoomed off.

Would I do it again...At 2pm yesterday, I had retired from running.
Today, now the pains are starting to subside, that's changed to a
    definate maybe.
Probably the hardest thing I have ever done in my
life, went off too fast and suffered for it at 11 miles, great
    experience and learned loads.
I can't imagine doing it twice, so anyone doing a full marathon, my hat off to you.
